Partial view buddy. Sometimes parents are healthy and loving ... sometimes there is not so much luck. Some parents program you to love them out of power, and call that respect and "being grateful"... (as they were so told/taught, sometimes by force, in an innocent domino effect). I love life but my parents were broken, I had to cry and deconstruct a lot what I thought I was ... not to die at a young age like Patrick...,

A mere kid, at 23 I still don't know much of nothing but I know my father died before I could make him proud & that's something that I walk around with bottled up inside me everyday. I love how he maintained two passions both his mother and father had introduced him to. Most young people of our generation don't have one passion, as the age we live in neither enforces us to go for a passion rather than a profitable business, nor ever pointed out how far the huge number of options in a globalized can prevent you from going for your passion! He was a man of love and commitment, but never doggedness. And so much more than just a pretty face! Rest in Peace Sir!

I was surprised to know it was just like I remembered it some 29 years ago. It left that much of an impression on me. He was a strong man with such a humble heart. It pulls at my heartstrings, his battle with cancer and his subsequent death seem such a waste of such a good soul. But it was not a waste at all, the world is very fortunate to have had this person that was Patrick Swayze to entertain us and set an example of working hard, being tough, yet compassionate and humble. Rest in Peace, you are to this day missed by many.

There was and is nobody who can ever be like Patrick Swayze. He was perfect in every way. He wanted to be more than a pretty face , such incredible dignity and nobility along with sex appeal that is unmatched in 3 decades. The stuff legends are made of . Thank you for sharing your incredible talents with the world, you made it a better place. Love at first sight from North and South and consolidated forever with Dirty Dancing. You will be adored forever.

Have you seen the documentary I Am Patrick Swayze its so sad but a brilliant tribute to him it was revealed he was so private and shy that his manager had trouble convincing him to make public appearances because once he made a movie he just wanted to go back home and leave Hollywood behind. Not one person had a bad word to say about him but it did say he was absolutely devastated when his father died that was what triggered his drinking. They talk about this interview as well he was very nervous about it apparently but good for him for being honest and actually talking about what was still obviously a very raw subject for him. It was so wrong how the media hounded him when he was dying

Was floored when I saw Patrick Swayze the first time. "Who is THAT ?" He had the type of personality that attracted everyone. Girls wanted to date him, guys wanted to go party with him. Nice dichotomy. Just glad most of Patrick's career is available on DVD. We can watch him whenever time permits. That's a gift. Bless you Patrick, you are missed ! Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. Gone way too soon.

Oh my sweet Patrick. I worked for 5 years during my high school years in summer vacation in central Ontario at a resort.. I fell in love with a wonderful person and sadly, once I went home, we lost contact. A day never goes by that I do not think about those summers and Norm Johnston who I met and I fell in love with and could possibly, have had a life together. Thank you to who ever for giving me Dirty Dancing.

Patrick reminds me of my dad in every way, except the dancing. My dad was 6'7 and played ball for the Citadel, but was the biggest softie and genuinely cared about people. My dad also passed away from pancreatic cancer when he was 50. You can hardly find men like this anymore and when you do, they are typically gone too soon. RIP
