Birdsong and Would You Please Wake Up is about overcoming trauma and feeling real for the first time in forever again.

Hello to everyone binging Patricia's discography in chronological order and suffering from severe whiplash going from Foley Artist directly into this.

Okay. This is now one of my favourite albums, and I've only just heard it this week. That is fucking rare. It's not a perfect album. It's not my usual tastes, and nowhere near as well-produced as my usual favs (BT, Jon Hopkins, Solar Fields, etc.). I went into this with low expectations despite The Wonky Angle's glowing praise - but that was grossly unfair because every track here (with the only real exceptions being the intro and My Best Friend) has something going for it. Cilantro is a fucking joyous bop, Flap Flap is a fun little exploration into autistic stimming (a condition I share), Rocking Music hits heavy and light all at once, Nine Stars is like a really good spacey, evocative trance song despite how sparse the arrangement is in comparison and was stuck in my head for almost two days (another big achievement). Catch These Hands is another perfectly catchy dance epic with a really great payoff, Birdsong is a track I was worried I wouldn't like but REALLY paid off four minutes in, track 10 has a great contrast between the tinkly piano and the haunting lyrics, and the last track had me grinning from ear to ear. That almost never happens. So yeah - an imperfect album but now one of my favourites. Thank you for making this. And given the quick peek at your Twitter I really hope you're doing okay. What you do is valued, and not just by me

i listened to this whole album playing minecraft, and i literally had to stop and just listen when birdsong came on. it was just so powerful, when the loud electronic noises suddenly stopped and it was just birds and piano i literally almost cried. such a powerful album!! :D

you really got the rhythm game feel down btw, i can't wait to plug this album into crypt of the necrodancer as a custom soundtrack!

I don’t normally listen to music when like studying (mostly because I don’t study lmao), but like this make me 5x productive having this in the background… birdsong is weirdly calming, cilantro is an absolute bop, the weird time signatures on everything adds a massive vibe. This is simply the best album i have ever heard. Mad respect, wish i could produce on your level!

I cannot being to explain how much this album means to me. It's gotten me through so much and helped me navigate trauma. Thank you Patricia for an amazing piece of music that I'll continue to praise to people for the rest of my life.

Cilantro goes hard

These dudes give me strong klonoa vibes, I really like them, they're like some lost, obscure PS1 era game series

Much better than i expected! I thought it was gonna be good, but i didn't think it would go this hard. It continues on from Doraemon a bit. On a production level it sounds much better. Can't believe this and Foley Artist were released in quick succession right after The Best Day which on a relisten was underwhelming and too simple. Quite the big jump in quality happened in 2019. The songs here are all distinct and well placed. Especially considering the length of some of these are. It's never boring. I was filled with so much joy and happiness just listening to this. It just comes for some reason.. It's magic! I saw people calling this emotional and i thought that sounded ridiculous. This album being emotional? But it ended up being that way. It's so strong. That sudden mode hits when you're at the top like that. I like that it doesn't recover immediately. It lets the impact linger on through multiple tracks. It really came through to me. I could feel that i wanted to cry on "I Haven't Died". It was really pretty and so were the lyrics. There some long passages of lyrics in most of the songs it was surprising to see. Doraemon was good, but this actually came through the screen with what it wanted to do. I have recommended Foley Artist to a few folks whenever I've recommended your music but I'm replacing it with this now. I haven't been jealous artistically in a long while so that should be saying something. Loved this!

Great. Now the youtube algorithm thinks I'm a kid and keeps recommending peppa pig and toy channel vids. Thanks Patty Totally worth it

I usually go around posting the songs' time stamps where i don't see them, but i realized that it would kinda defeat the point of your work. It's not like it's continuous in the way King Gizzard and The Wizard Lizzard is, there is not direct transition, but listening to the first seconds of each one of your songs doesn't do the album justice and i think it is not meant to be listened incompletly based on the first impression of each song. You made music wich i enjoy listening to completly without the naggin feeling of that i could be skipping a part of the experience or the pressure of doing it in one go. Also love this funky little girlfriends. Keep doing what you do. (english is my second lenguage sorry every1)
