Regarding the Finnish trials in the 1950s, I don't think they actually got the 7.62x39 version of the AR-10 into those trials. So they sent a 7.62 NATO version, which was then discarded because not the right caliber. And apparently, the Swiss Stgw.57 in 7.62x39 actually performed the best, but was too expensive to licence and/or produce. Valmet prototype AK did the job, and was a "ready" domestic option.
Thanks for answering my questions!😂 And indulging my Sig USA bashing via a leading question.
Regarding the first question... There have been rumours, that the new Sako-AR that has been adopted by Sweden and will be adopted by Finland, has some sort of captivity system for the firing pin retaining pin. Just something I've "read on the forums" so no idea if this holds true or not. Would make sense that this is something the Finnish Defence Forces had input on, considering the nature of our conscript/reservist military :)
10:10 remands me of one of Tom Clany books. Don't remember witch one, but there was a talk about disarmament of nuclear weapons. I believe Rain asks, If someone is aiming at you with revolver, and decide to empty 5 out of 6 chambers, do you fill better, knowing that under the hummer there is live round? Similar story your 0.3 calibre bullet is a bit less powerful then mine 0.31.
Listening to this while loading some .303 for my No4Mk2 - very appropriate. Happy Christmas to you and yours from sunny Malta!
I could see Enflield Brutality being a thing in the UK. Pistols are a no no of course but a good dynamic service match with FAC shotguns thrown in as stage guns instead of a pistol is certainly do-able.

If we ever got consulted on a British Brutality we'd base the gats around what's used in Civilian Service Rifle probably. You can't actually use an FAC shotgun as a stage gun, that's illegal. They'd have to be Sec.2 shotties.

Something like a Greener GP would up the swear count nicely, while at the same time being a British classic and cheap as chips!
On the subject of cylinder gaps, I had a friend who had a .454 Casul revolver carbine. He had to wear a leather archery arm guard to shoot it.
Thank you. I always enjoy your work immensely. About the pump-action AR: are you aware that there was a pump-action AK/Galil/Valmet derivative made and sold in South Africa? It was called the Vektor H5, and I see Ian actually has a video on it.
Nooooo nooooooo not the screw cap wine 😭 How could the Chap do this ? (Edit : okay the explanation about the cap works, but you guys are not completely forgiven)

It's really not an issue here, nobody aside from the wine snobs being ripped off with expensive wine cares much about real cork vs fake cork vs screw top. The breathable membrane in the screw top (they come in different permeabilities depending on the wine) is one of Switzerland's greatest food and drink related innovations. The other is processed cheese slices, together with the highly successful psyop that makes everyone identify them with the US!!! XD

@@BlokeontheRange damn we don’t get those in France… to be fair, screw caps are so deeply linked to cheapo wine in people’s minds that I doubt it would take off, even if it’s a good product

@@mrwellgun similar here in Portugal, even most of the cheaper wines are cork capped
Merry Christmas. Happy new year. Enjoy the content. Keep it going.

Thanks, you too!
Can't wait for FlintGlock and its iterations.
You could also do some Brutality tie-in with a IPSC-match, maybe a Handgun Brutality-style match for IPSC-pistol
Looking forward to your vids on the taipan, I assume that's the pump action ar15 you were talking about. I had to convince my dad not to get one because he's a fan of the ar15 look, but a pump action rifle for target shooting seemed questionable to me
Some Swiss culture videos would be nice. Happy Christmas and New Year.
Merry Xmas and a happy new year to everyone!
Dale's Domain has a certain ring to it... like ominous.
I am probably grossly wrong in my guess but would the ‘flintglock’ etc. snap matchlock and ‘wheelglock’ be essentially putting the locks in vertically in the butt instead of horizontally in the stock? A crude way of putting it but I think you will get the gist of it. I have seen it done in late period flintlock pistols with the use of a back lock.

Indeed, look up Delvigne single shot percussion pistols for the general idea
Can you make a video of mad minute with the 7.5mm conversion of the Berthier the M34? Would like to see how it compares to the Berthier M16.

@@thebotrchap Great! Looking forward to it.
The HK416 has a captive firing pin retention pin.
Keep plodding on Bloke. We've all been there. 🖖
American here, I'm sorry for what we did to SIG. My apologies. I try and make up for it by rescuing any Swiss and WG SIG I find here.
A man of culture with that porcupine tree for best band pick.
Excited for Flintglock.
The Finns trialed a 7.62x39 AR-10 using AK magazines? So...a full size CMMG Mutant 60 years before CMMG started building them?
Wine, lathe cutting oil..... questions....Christmas.
Weird as the US picked a SIG gun after the factory moved to the states. Europe picking AR15 is just opposite day. Fantasy gun would be a refined AN-94.
I will die on my hill that the APC is the superior service rifle for Switzerland 😤😂
Why is he worrying about the firing pin retaining pin getting lost? What about the firing pin itself? What about the extractor spring? The US military hasn't found it to be an issue in 50 years.

When I was young and foolish, I was a US Army Small Arms Repairman. Our AR-15 firing pin retaining pins were rounded on the ends for easy insertion. Now days the "Military Specification" parts I have from various vendors are square cut and difficult to insert. A few strokes with a B*st*rd file cure the problem. How are your pins in Europe produced? Geoff Who is vastly experienced.

I think they're just American ones. There's a trick to getting them in easily though, which I keep forgetting given that I don't strip my BCG's very often.

a bastard file is a very coarse file, you would be using one to take the edges off a split pin.
Hey Bloke, I know of someone that can copy your K31 clip! AV Balistics in Brisbane Australia!

French brutality match………you must drink Italian wine, and eat English food.
Brine!
Not knowing exactly what the ‘personal’ questions were makes it seem like your patreons are asking deeply, deeply invasive questions and are the biggest pack of deviates ever. Which might be true.
