He's such a handsome guy and now he seems so much more confident. I'm so happy for him! 😊
For the life of me, I don’t understand why people wait so long.

Mostly fear. He knew that it would need to be cut off, but was scared of going through the procedure. It's actually a common experience of people needing surgeries, but they put it off because it is scary to have someone cut into your flesh to remove issues occurring under your skin. It's not a very easy choice to make, especially if you have fears of needles, or especially scalpels. During one of my surgeries, I went through general anesthesia but was still very conscience of my surroundings before the anesthesia was administered. That only occurred for one of my surgeries that I've needed over the years. It was a little unsettling to see all of the surgical instruments surrounding the operating room. I also don't handle anesthesia very well. There could have been an experience similar with him that caused more anxiety to have any procedure done to remove the lipoma. We don't know his history or his mentality. But I'm pretty positive he wanted it removed much earlier, but had reasons to put it off. Not too mention the monetary situation he may have been dealing with. So there are many reasons it takes so long for a patient to hold off on any treatment even if they know it needs to be done.

I don't either! I am a Kiwi, a New Zealander and if this was happening our free health care system would have sorted him out long before it got to this. Sure we have waiting times, but no way it would have grown to this!!!!

It’s not about which country or health system, anxiety and fear don’t care if your care is public or private. As the video said he has “white coat syndrome”. He admitted his own reasons why and none of it he listed was cost or health system.
I don't think he would've freaked out so badly if the doctor would've been more confident in answering the question about if she could do the surgery or not.

All worked out well for him. I’m unsure why he was hesitant to have a general anaesthetic as there’s less risk than having a vehicle accident on the way home.
He looks younger after the surgery
He looks so much better with the hair cut.

Blessings for this man he looks amazing the doctors did a good job.
Eric hairstyle looks a bit like Kenny G!
How do people wait so long. The bigger it gets the more dangerous the removal.
He needs general anesthesia for that size lipoma, especially with his anxiety and distrust. 15 yrs is a long time to have that thing in his neck.
White Coat syndrome isn't always about distrust. I trust my Dr.s to be truthful, to do their best. But because they have been the bringers of bad news, sometimes awful news, to my life, I feel fear in their office.
I have had 7 surgeries so don't worry about being put to sleep. It makes it so much better.
WHY DONT YOU SHOW THE ACTUAL SURGICAL PROCEDURE?!

It could be because of sensitivity for some people could be kind of gorey
That’s not good if a doctor/dermatologist isn’t confident about it.

So happy for him ❤❤❤❤❤and proud he did it 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Oh man, get that lipoma removed by Pimple popper Dr Sandra Lee. She will put you at ease.😂
My medical insurance will not cover lipoma removal unless there is some kind of physical pain. Other than that, they consider it cosmetic.
Wow He’s like a whole different person! Great haircut Well done

Glad to see he got it done...was wondering how he turned out from a previous post....looks great...
Major surgery? I had my bowel removed when I was twenty years old. I was told I'd got approximately ten years left. That is major surgery. It's also traumatic. I had an accident that resulted me to have spinal surgery. Again (actual) major surgery. Get a grip man!

Awe hes totally beaming after the surgery, but goodness that would be so very uncomfortable having that on ones neck!
I must have blinked when she operated on him. I missed it.
For him, it was major surgery. He went through the same pre-surgery anxiety as any other man having, for instance, a gall bladder removed. He’s not a‘sissy’ as some comments imply.
Very disappointed. I thought we were going to see the procedure😟
It cured his depression.
My scar looked like that from a skin cancer removed but it stretched ugh . It don’t look that bad but they also had to take more out internally .

Because this is America and most of us can’t afford insurance. And even when you do have insurance, things like this are considered to be an elective procedure. Which may or not be covered based on the plan you have.

What a waste of a video. Show the surgery to go with it.
If you're that concerned about general anesthesia, maybe dont wait 15 years to address the issue. I would never consent to have something that large (on my neck, no less) removed in a non hospital setting.

I agree with the first sentence of your comment 100%. Don't agree with the rest. I watched Dr Sandra Lee take off stuff like this in the office all the time. Now this one is huge and it's in a very sensitive place, so I could agree that perhaps it should be done in a hospital. People need to stop walking around with these huge growths for 15-20 years!
I was expecting to see the surgery wth 🤷👎

A good doctor wants to do what's best for their patient. Anxiety is a serious medical issue. He wanted to have it removed but was terrified of the procedure. My Dermatologist is always booked up for months, but she takes care of her patients amazingly and spends a lot of time educating patients and talking about their issues and treatment options. Also dermatologist appointments aren't cheap especially if you are uninsured. It was in the best interest for his health to have the procedure done under general anesthesia, which gave him time to prepare for it. This is because scheduling a surgery typically isn't done the same day unless it's an emergency. I also have panic attack disorder and generally don't do well with anesthesia. It's a very scary ordeal going through any kind of surgery, which is why he probably put it off for so long. Luckily the doctors really worked with him to help him get the help he needed while maintaining his dignity with compassion. It's hard to describe the feeling of a panic attack to someone who doesn't experience it. It's a natural reaction to your flight, fight, freeze response. For some individuals these responses go overboard, causing panic attacks, leading to increased blood pressure. I think he had a bit of flight and freeze responses co-occurring, which kept his blood pressure to high for an in office procedure. But as you see, he did get help from the recommended surgeon because he did want the help, he just needed time to really mentally prepare for the procedure. When you first walk in to be seen by the doctor, you don't know what their course of treatment will be. I think he may have not been prepared to have the procedure done right then at the office. A good doctor will not be offended if their patients need a little extra help and time. It's also just good bedside manners. I have no doubt that during the time they were giving him to try and relax she was actively treating other patients during their scheduled times. That actually is very common. I'm just speaking from my personal experience, but I think a lot of that translates to what he was going through with the whole ordeal. Hopefully that helps you understand the reasoning behind his actions a little better. Some people just need a bit of extra care.
Worried about being knocked out. I’ve lost count the amount of operations I’ve had ffs
I would never understand why people are freaking out that much for a so small surgery! No organs in the way, only a fatty lipoma on the back of head hidden by hair .... so easy !!!

Judgy, much?
I couldn't imagine carrying around that thing on my neck. I already have a sensitive neck as it is, that would kill me
I understand this guy. I dislike doctors. My feet are messed up because of a doctor. And I don't trust them.
Why'd he wait so long? And I'm not really sure that having skin and a fat bulb removed in one area is major surgery. There's no bone shaving or muscles cut so there's like no recovery time and you'd be completely normal after. Also this is kind of random but he mildly looks like Jeff Goldblum.
It was Not major surgery!.
Oh dear…….rolling my eyes….it was NOT major surgery…

So a small condition after 14 years, hmm. His hairline is his major concern, hmm Not sure his hair, which is not as he says, actually was covering that huge lymphoma. Very confused about all this... Then, after all the doubt about pain killers and anxiety medication affecting him. And in a blink of an eye that massive lymphoma has vanished and his much loved locks have gone. 😮😮😮😮
Such a stupid episode.
what do theese people expect. you leave something long enough it is going to be harder to do. should of been done long ago
