I know what you mean about the lost friends. I had a great hunting partner years ago, and we had some great hunting times together. He passed away several years ago, and I miss him every day. I still turkey hunt avidly, but it just aint the same without him.

There's a bird I busted last week of season 3 years in a row from lack of patience. It was a highly pressured field and the wood edge up to the fields was private minus 5ft into the woods. So you have to sit on the edge. We'll there's an old tom that wouldn't show up till 9 or 10. Every time I'm ready to get up an leave I walk half way to the car and get busted. Didn't get a chance this year to go. It's almost 2 hours away and we had plenty of turkey at home.

Went turkey hunting a few times with my buddy and man the gobbling is INSANE. I love it, I’m going a few more times before it s over. I had a hen 5ft in front of me and I just mimicked her calling with the box call

We didn’t make it down this season from Fargo ND. Friend of mine is having surgery and needs help looking afterwards. Unfortunately moving into a new place also kept us from coming to Wisconsin this year. I figured the season would have been better earlier than usual do to the mild weather this spring but I always watch for an update from your videos Dan to see when to come. I did tag out on my first ever North Dakota gobbler but it took most of the month to fill the tag. Gobblers we so henned up all spring

I was so disappointed last deer season bought my first out of state rifle tag for Wisconsin tags falling out of my pocket so excited to get any deer for the freezer. Drove home disappointed only deer we seen the whole trip was dead on the side of the road coming and going into and out of the state of Wisconsin. I’d rather bow hunt ND than rifle hunt Wisconsin

Hi Dan Congratulations nice bird when you use 1 Decoy do you use a hen or a Jake ? What kind of shotgun gauge and size shot do you shoot Turkey with? Really enjoy your videos you keep all your hunting so simple ! I know you're really missed Dave ! But he's always there hunting with you !! like my uncle Jerry's with me I'll lost him years ago But he's on every hunt with me away !

I used a Higdon hen decoy. In a farm set up with a preset blind I would do the gobbler too... Just to much to carry running and gunning. I used a 12 gauge Benelli shotgun with 3 1/3 inch Federal TSS #5-6-7 load

Quite possible, but I have had a lot of instances where they see decoys and stop searching and strut 70 yards away trying to get the hen to go to them, or for what ever reason. Seems like its 50/50 with Dekes and sometimes good, sometimes bad.

Dan, the distance looks so far from with the camera. Could you consider stating approx distance in yards. Distance to decoy etc etc. Good video Dan

I need to do that more often. Dekoy was about 25 yards shot was about 30.

That wasn’t a jake that was the looker should of had Ricky with u could of doubled cool hunt u have more patience than me if they ain’t answering calls I run them down

Your right... When editing I noticed it was a bigger bird than I thought. Rickey is out there right now giving it a shot.

I don’t know how you handle the insects. Awful this time of year.
