    The removal of gem and socket colors is yet another example of removing unnecessary RNG from the game. This is the kind of move that will make the game more accessible for more casual players, and just streamline the progression of the game for everyone.

    Still think the have linking Currency in poe 2 but they are deterministic and not rng

    @@Takaoshi iirc what they've said so far is that there are no "links," just sockets in the skill gems itself, as you no longer socket support gems into your equipment. I believe they've said that there is a currency item that sets your skill gems to a fixed number of sockets, so all the RNG is in just dropping that currency, with higher numbers being rarer. I don't know if this was the case during these playtests or what, maybe Tri can confirm how sockets on skills worked.

    @@bknight3391 @bknight3391 yeah, i ment there are specific Currency to upgrade the number of sockets on the gems. So if a gem has 3 sockets there will be currency that upgrade it to 4,5 and six. They said that in a recent interview.

    @@TalkativeTri Look up Tears of the Magi, Vaal, and Malachai to put the story lore together. I wish the Wildwood story would come back. There's so much lore there, it's not even funny. Hope Affliction League goes core. TOTA (entirety) should also go core as well. Was so awesome to play against the old gods. And I loved how you did not see them in the tournament until you beat them (Toukohama for example) in the ACTs first. Some attention to detail there.

    The 100% best change is gem socket into you and no more colour. So now when you find a good piece of equipment you can be sure you can use it. No more go to town and use all your socket and link to make it 6 link then colour it off colour. The game become 100% more fun with that. No more RNG for something as simple as making your build works.

    the 1-support gem limit i could see ending up being a bit of a problem for minions. I could imagine a case where you have multiple different kinds of minions in the "i just want these to survive to tank/provide buffs/skills" but PoE2 won't let you put Minion life + Meat Shield (if that's even in PoE2) on all of them. we'll have to see how this all works out. should be good for everything else i think.

    I wouldn't be surprised if instead of limiting all support gems to just one they instead make it a property of the gem itself, like some Jewels in PoE1, eg Limit: 1, Limit: 3, Limit: 9, etc. This way you can maybe use more utility and meta type supports but fewer pure damage supports

    The optimization problem of outfitting multiple skills with support gems will add quite a bit of complexity in a good way: newer players or players trying what is fun aren't too penalized but the minmaxing gods will have a lot more tinkering to do. I don't think people who really love trying to optimize build will dislike in practice having a whole resource allocation problem. In practice taking the bell example, maybe you will optimize the bell for duration and dps, the triggering skill for attack speed and projectiles a guard skill that lasts just long enough to let you stand still for a moment to do the four hit combo and the 4 hit combo skill for attack speed.

    The sacrifices builds will have to make is very interesting. You can't just say X gem setup is best for this skill anymore. You may even completely disqualify some skills being even used in your build due to being unable to use a certain support on it because you NEED it on another.

    Special encounters with seeded loot is a neat idea to motivate exploration without it being forced while also helping players not fall behind.

    I personally love the gem and socket changes, no more going broke trying to 6-link an item, no more sitting in your hideout, spamming socket colors, with jeweler orbs, or trying to hit off-colors. I love these changes so much!!! Everything the devs are doing just means more playing!!! Love your channel, love you excitement and positivity!!! God bless👍🙏

    I would like to see a unique item that is something like Dialla's Malefaction and make that the sockets have colors and if you put them in the righ ones you get the bonus. And make it absolutely random for every skill gem. :D Other then this I am happy for monochrome!

    Really hope we start to get more information on the entire passive tree, Ascendancy Classes, and the end game. Feels weird that we are at the point it was supposed to be in early access already but they still havent actually shown any of this content yet. Super excited for Novemberish!

    I think they will want to disclose the ascendancy classes and maybe some uniques but I don't know that they want to reveal the full tree. They might want to be a bit vague to remove pre-beta theorycrafting but still give us enough info to make a decision about what we want to play without being too ovewhelmed. Maybe give us practical examples of what uniques can do

    The gem change should be incorporated into POE 1. Keep the colors but make everything work a little like Dialla's where you can put any color gem into any socket, but instead of the color itself giving a bonus there is a bonus based upon matching the gem color to the gem socket. So any item is instantly usable but there is still effort to min max it. There's a ton of ways to make this fun and it would completely remove the frustration of the nest RNG of sockets, links and colors.

    The reverting of flask changes back to how they function in PoE1 is the single best thing they could have done. It solves the ultimate issue of "chipping" down a player until they choose to A) stop playing the game by heading back to town to click a bowl, or B) stop playing the game by dying because they did not have their life flask available due to said "chipping". Praise that team for listening.

    I wish we didn't have to juggle multiple flasks, especially if they're supposed to be used in a "reactionary" way. I just want one button to heal myself; we have enough skills to manage.

    My favorite change is support gem exclusivity. I had been using the exact same 3-5 support gems for EVERY skill I was using in POE. Rather than Brutality, Melee Physical Damage, Increased Attack speed, Fortify, and Ruthless/Maim/Close Combat support I'd like to be able to use other things like Leech support to keep things more interesting. Leech support was severely lacking. Life leech used to be so much more OP.

    @@GorgeousFortress well in poe 2 since we can have multiple 6 sockets gems and say you have 3 melee physical skills, you would use inc melee phys damage on all of them and that is very boring. Now you must choose one. Using multiple elements in your skill rotation is also benefitial in poe 2 unlike poe 1 where you usually only focus on 1 element.

    One thing I’m waiting to see is how much more button mashy using skills will become. From clips it looks like people have to use 2-3 different skills to take a pack out. I’m still looking forward to Poe2, but I do like my one button builds.

    Chances are they'll implement updates to leagues like Delve in the coming PoE1 leagues, as they want that ready for PoE2 anyway. I believe Jonathan said that Delve and Sanctum will stay, so maybe we can expect a Sanctum update too.

    Thanks for the great summaries. Enjoying your videos. One thing has been bothering me a little when watching the demo videos: There are quite a few textures in the game that are triggering my trypophobia. I'm wondering whether it would be possible to create some kind of trypophobia filter in the game to hide these kinds of textures. Blood and guts are great, but these little hole patterns are freaking me out.

    For me, the gems not having colors for skills and support gems is huge. Especially the support gems. I felt constrained in POE where I wanted to add poison damage to my item that mostly blue sockets. I would need to find items with the right color combination or use the color-changing orb (I Forgot what it was called) to get the right color. Downside it's randomized and might change all the socket colors. Gems not having colors can offer some creative builds when you focus on other skills that aren't in your class 'Archetype'.

    Hey tri love your channel I tried Poe 1 in the past but was way too complex for me lol love your vids but one thing I am noticing is that no content creator is really talking about the armour system like are they gonna change it in anyway at all one of the reasons I quit Poe 1 was because I couldn’t figure out what all the stats on the armour means like world accuracy or the explicts or implicts modifiers or how to use the crafting system could u possibly make a vid about the changes that are coming to those systems and how it’s going to be easyier for new players to learn

    I'm totally down with the changes, but honestly? It seems like they are removing a pretty big chunk of complexity from the game. Could be a great idea but can't really be sure until I play it. The gem system in particular seems a lot shallower and I worry more interesting / unexpected interactions might be gone. It doesn't seem like there is "cast while" gems or gems like high impact mines / arcanist brand / Generals cry / spell totems that effectively transform skills into other skills at the cost of sockets. A great example would be cyclone, where you can link two active skills together and use one as a trigger for another. Just supporting active skills with things that buff their effectiveness is kind of lame in comparison. But I do get the motivation for simplifying that and hopefully they can add complexity in other areas.

    You may have some issues, POE is very CPU heavy not GPU, it is heavily heavily optimized though. however poe2 seems to have less going on at once compared to poe1 so it may perform really well.

    Personally i love alot of the stuff i have seen from PoE 2 but most of it is only a improvement for getting started and campaign i rly do hope they get the endgame correct too especially with all the season stuff missing at launch cause i kinda feel thats what most games fail at the campaign always feels nice for the first time but players arent rly interested to play it over and over again especially if endgame is not worth the journey ... Kinda like D4 which always labeled itself as casual friendly campaign focussed game yet u can already entirely skip the whole campaign just jumping into helltides powerleveling in a day to 100 to then reach a nonexistent bare bones endgame which immediately makes u question why u even leveled ... they focussed on the wrong thing and realized it with all the recent changes.

    Wait, I don’t get the passive skill tree start change. The fact that each class starts somewhere different on the tree, is exactly like how it works with POE 1. The fact that you spawn with spell damage/minion damage on witch vs health/melee damage on eg marauder, is exactly the same difference you’re mentioning in POE 2 about the sorceress and the new witch. So what’s the difference?

    I am generally scared every time GGG removes a game element. Here i mean stuff like fusings and chromes. I can not help myself thinking about Blizzard or Bethesda. They keept removing stuff that they thought was redundant or not fun to the point where the game got extremly boring which was exactly why so many of us loved poe 1.     If each character can use only one copy of each support what's the point of support gems being items? They could just be passives that the characters unluck as they level and the player decides to which active skill it applies. Maybe this would be worse from a clarity perpective, but I don't see the point of owning multiple copies of the same support gem anymore.

    I could be wrong, but I think I heard Jonathan say he wants all the classes to be in early access but might miss by one or two during the Ghazzy interview. I'm still expecting most of them to be there at the start, testing the economy with only 3/4 of the classes doesn't make a lot of sense to me, and they surely have to be close to wrapping up at least one more class, with plenty of time for 10 and 11 by November. If Witch was the hardest, and she took 5ish months, I'd hope for at least 10 on launch.

    All will be in before the 1.0 launch, definitely. I know Jonathan said he wants more than 8 at the early access launch, but I am bit skeptical. We'll have to see!

    @@SkiptzYT I was unsure if only the console version would get the co-op treatment, since this type of play historically has been on consoles and less frequently on PC. I don't own a console and don't plan to, sick of keeping up with the ever more expensive systems.

    if they want this game to have Mass appeal then they have to let new arpg players pick bills so that they don't have to make choices on the skill tree - I understand that sounds horrible and it goes against everything path of exile is and all that but I'm just saying if it's going to have Mass appeal they have to let new players pick a build not just a class. so for example if they want to play the build that is being used by the number one player in the world they can just click a button and every time they get a skill point it'll be allocated into onto the path so that it will complete the build that build.

    unless swapping support gems carries a cost people will just swapp support gems to use one skill or another just like people do now in POE 1 to fight mobs use melee splash and for the boss multistrike so they make it inconvenient but its pointless

    I am confused about support gems.. u can use support gems on one skill at a time not 2 skill at once ... Am i right ? What i understand is support gem are used only one specific skill gem and can not be reused for another skill gem later on if that's the case then it sucks it will be very annoying to play poe2 after playing poe1 for long time.. however if u need to break ur old skill gem to get ur support gem to be used again then thats good ( i hope so )

    You won't be able to use/socket the skill that had a duplicate support in it I'm guessing from how it's all been worded. Jonathan spoke about it in the recent witch reveal podcast I believe.

    @@rangagump5591 Correct you can only use 1 copy of each support. So lets say you have Less duration on Earthquake. Well Earthquake has it and nothing else can.

    i dont see an inherent problem with removing things like socket colors, but i am curious to see if there is a collective dumbing down of the game when they remove enough of those types of things. One of the staples of poe is that the currency is usable for more than trading and it seems like they keep removing all the things you would have used those currencies for. Def look forward to seeing how it feels. For the most part it didn't "add anything" to deal with socket colors, but it does add little hurdles that you need to solve which in some ways is the whole point of a game. The game fives you hurdles and you solve them. I kind of enjoy all the little gearing things in poe1, so again, curious to see how it feels without some of those.

    note: i definitely fall into the category of people traumatized by d3's dumbing down of the genre, so i am very against things like "green arrow up = equip". I hate that shit and i probably am unreasonably afraid of things being dumbed down.

    Considering that character building seems even more complex than before, I don't think you need to worry about that? Having chromes in the game don't matter much in the long run. After a while it's just pointless friction and it doesn't add much either.

    @@Badger1981 Anything that is feasible is being transferred over as long as it also exists in poe2 and functions similarly. If a skill has the same name and functions entirely differently jonathon said that skin may not work/transfer over but they are trying to make it work. Also Consoles has its own caveat where Xbox and Sony can dictate shit so thats a whole other can of worms where GGG has less control over.

    I got a sense that there were some passive aggressive shots fired 😁 I know D4 isn't "hardcore" but I am ok with a game being accessible for everyone the fathers who only have 5 hours a week and those folks working 60 hours a week trying to find game time...and this is NOT directed at you my good sir...I dunno enuff about you and your content to say that..but everyone acts like accessibility is just the most terrible thing in the world...I'm not a "fanboy" I'm a man in his 40s way to old for that stuff lol i am going to stay a D4 person...but that being said I hope GGG knocks this outta the park I never wish bad things for the "competition" or fans of PoE there is room for all players to be happy regardless of your ARPG of choice... interesting video sir was a fun watch..
