Pat Buchanan on Foreign Policy @ Cato Institute 11/22/99
Фильм және анимация
The topic of the talk is: “The New Americanism: A Response to President Clinton’s Allegations of a New Isolationism” This was taped at the Cato Institute on November 22, 1999 and aired on C-SPAN. Pat Buchanan was then the presidential candidate of the Reform Party and had recently published “A Republic, Not an Empire: Reclaiming America's Destiny.” He declares that he is not an isolationist but does oppose intervention. As he puts it, “Intervention is the incubator of terrorism.” He poses these questions: Are we to be a republic or an empire? Are we to be a peacemaker or the world’s policeman? At different points, he is hard on both President Clinton and Governor George W. Bush, against whom he was competing for President. He speaks for 24 minutes and then takes questions for 34 minutes. The moderator is Ted Carpenter, Cato Institute VP for Defense and Foreign Policy Studies.

He makes out to be fine Nostradamus I must say.
I'm going back to vote for Pat Buchanan.
my god. this man was way ahead of his time. he predicts the future, from wolfowitz, to russia, to terrorism.
This man speaks truth while americans usually just vomit their on lies over and over again, i must say i am impressed .
Even if I think Buchanan is wrong on many things from social issues to economic, he was great on foreign policy and he would have made a pretty decent president

Can you image where we would be today if he won

If by some.miracle he had been elected in 2000, can you imagine how different the US and the world would be? No Iraq war and the response to 9/11 would have not involved long term involvement in Afghanistan.
