I wish the Bon Appetit gang would check out a channel called Spudfit here on KZread. The guy who made the channel created this diet where all you eat is potatoes. No fruits, dairy or other vegetables. It works very well too! He was monitored medically while doing it for a year and had no issues and lost hundreds of pounds. It would be awesome if the Bon Appetit gang made all kinds of recipes for this diet. It really is an amazing diet because with this diet you could help people all over the world lose weight AND feed everyone on the planet very easily because potatoes are such an inexpensive food.

Sohla deserves equal pay and compensation she is CLEARLY the genius behind the scenes like we saw her temper chocolate like a seasoned professional in the chris/brad episode

It’s astonishing to me how she isn’t getting equal pay. I just heard about it and am going through a bunch of Claire episodes. She appears often is always comedic and offers multiple ideas that people find very helpful. Sohla is there more often than others in some cases too!

For shape and cooking, Instead of wrapping in plastic grab a freezer bag cut tip of 1/2" equal to 1" diameter and pipe in straight into the fryer cut to desired lenght. Easy and quick shapes without the browning!

CLAIRE! My husband ALSO never got righty tighty, so I came up with and taught him "clock to lock" - turning it clockwise tightens or "locks" it in place. Clock to lock, counter to enter. I never beg, but PLEASE upvote so she sees and has something that works for her!

@@RosesAndIvy It's not *quite* as useful as "clock to lock" is, but I know that for me, I remember "righty tighty" as the "main" clue, and then "lefty loosey" is a minorly helpful addition. Knowing one lets you infer the other, so I wasn't *as* concerned with the second half being as useful on its own. You "enter" a jar though by opening it, so it makes a little bit of sense in that regard. It's also a nice opposite to "lock" that isn't *just* unlock. You lock a house when you leave, you enter it when you return. Hope that helps! My husband and I *usually* just say "clock to lock" rather than the longer "clock to lock, counter to enter" because that works for us. Just like "righty tighty" works for me. So I made the longer version because some people really like the full "righty tighty, lefty loosey" to help them remember, so I thought some form of "clock to lock, counter to enter" might help somebody, and I wasn't sure if my husband would like the full phrase or the shorter version.

I think in Gourmet Makes, destroying kitchen equipment is a foregone conclusion and everyone is just surprised when Claire doesn't destroy equipment.

@@DinoSarma I get the exact same way as Claire and I think it's so fantastic that her colleagues understand this and do their best to support her in ways that she needs (like Delaney agreeing or Gabby coming up with the apple corer idea)

I miss this so much

When Claire doesn't want to re-poach the potatoes: *Simultaneously* Delaney: "Perfection takes as long as it takes" Sohla: "Could we lie to people? Say you did it again" Sohla is chaotic good.

Finally. Someone who loves potatoes the way they deserve to be loved: whole heartedly, unashamedly, and most importantly, based on sound potato cookery.

I can't get enough of Claire Saffitz on Gourmet Makes. The episodes don't come out fast enough. Please give me more.

I miss this so so bad.

She sounds like Bubba listing shrimp dishes when she lists potato recipes

I love it when Claire does collabs with the other chefs

I love every character in the kitchen crew. So lovely and full of personality.

Claire's list of things you can make with potatoes has the same energy as Bubba's list of shrimp dishes in Forrest Gump.

When I watched this when it dropped I was already kind of bummed every time Claire forgot to incorporate Sohla's casserole. Now that I know that Claire was being paid for this video and Shola wasn't I'm furious. This is a problem for the entire organization.

I don't think it's that deep. Well with Claire, I know about the racism with higher ups. Claire reminds me a lot of my mum. She gets caught up in what she's doing. My mum has this talent of blocking us out. So I'd poke her and call her name for like 2 minutes and stop then 3 minutes later she'd be like "QUIT IT!" Kinda like how Claire did remember the casserole in the end.

I'm pretty sure she is still developing it. Or even if she is done, it takes a while to get the recipe edited and posted on the website.
