While it would return on ABC a few years later and from Los Angeles, they didn’t know it then. Allen was incorrect when he said that the word "transparent" is "'precisely what opaque means". Transparent is the opposite of what opaque means. Unusual for Allen to make a mistake.

I’m pretty sure he was being ironic. It was a comment on how Betty White managed to have her partner get the right answer on the first clue by using its antonym.

Farewell is an appropriate Password to use since it was the series finalie. It's too bad we can't see the very first episode of Password from 1961. If we want to see daytime Password in it's black & white form including the debut episode, it's best to contact WCBS Ch. 2 New York so we can see them on Buzzr.

I watched this game back then, when I was a child. Usually watched it in summers, otherwise I was in school. I liked the deep voice that announced each word. The 1980s version did not have that voice.

Betty White was a real jewel on the tv game shows. Frank Gifford was not only a great broadcaster on Monday night football ( on ABC in the 1970's, 80's, and 90's: plus in the early 2000's), but also a wonderful game show player. I miss them both.
