This show is addictive.
What a wonderful way to end this show! The only thing that could've made this better is if there was a moment where Mr. Daly had a conference with himself :)
This is a wonderful show, and what a brilliant way to end all of it...with Mr. Daly himself as the mystery guest. Heck, he even SIGNED the board! This show was one of a kind.
A sad moment in television history as after 17 years, What's My Line was no more. A lot of memorable moments on this show.
I was a little kid when John Daly hosted the show. I didn't understand why Bennett Cerf would routinely insult Mr. Daly; I thought Mr. Cerf was an awful wiseguy or a bully. I didn't understand social dynamics; the two men were actually great friends, and would pick on one another as a kind of endearment. The same dynamic goes on in "roasts." It's mock aggression, and it's really friendly play.
I am almost 63 years old and I must say that John Daly was the most talented emcee in television history. With all due respects to Alex Traveck and Bob Barker.
John Daly was born 100 years ago today. Great show and a great host.
Sadly Mrs. Dorothy Kilgallen didn't encountered this
What he should do is sort of answer wrong and then consult with himself. That would definitely throw them off.
"Are you going to out of work like the rest of us?" Best question ever. Didn't WML went off in January of '67?
What a well-spoken & true gentleman John Daly was. And to think we lost both him & his wonderful show. R.I.P
The final episode.
What a great show. I didn’t know it ever existed until I found it on KZread a couple of months ago and I am hooked.
Viewing these clips has given me so much pleasure and returned me to days of quality and style combined with good manners. So sad that they seem to be far distant now.
I wish I could go back in time and watch shows like this and the great movies of this time. I'm 19 and I can say that this is more entertaining than almost everything on tv now. It's sad some of the things called comedy today =(
I couldn't think of a better way to end the show, way to go John.
Just started watching these on here recently. What a pleasant, charming guy the host John Daly is. Respectful to everyone, always keeping it light and happy.
52 years since WML? went off the air... and STILL the greatest show on tv.
So many pleasant memories of watching this show. I've missed it. Mr. Daly was such a wonderful host. He was intelligent, well-read, cultured, had an erudite sense of humor, and was an excellent moderator. And the panel members were all of his ilk. Chris Ducat called it 'the death of the Golden Era of TV'. In more ways than one, I agree.
One of the greatest moments in the history of What's My Line. John Daly was absolutely the best host of hundreds of guests over 17 years and this moment is fabulous!!!
