I started T at 51. So now I pass as a younger man-- and people who have known me from the start comment on how much younger I appear -- could be the joy of finally being me...

Hey! Another middle-aged transitioner! Nice to meet you StineMachine. I'm 46 and I started on T about 11 weeks ago now. I've had people tell me I am starting to look like a teenage boy. I don't know if I want to look like a teenager, but being perceived as younger is kind of cool.

Yeah -- I've bypassed the teen thing due to my grey hair. Doesn't mean I'm not acting like one, though... ;)

Not very masculine

I’m nearly 39, 6.5 months on T, and I pass as a teenage boy! But honestly I don’t find it annoying at all. I am LOVING passing as male at all, after nearly 4 decades of being seen as female! This is the most happy in myself I’ve ever felt. Plus I missed out on a male adolescence first time round, so this feels like a nice way to make up for it. And there’s plenty of time to look grizzled and old in the future!

Ugh! I TOOOTALLY feel ya on this! I started at 35 (on T) so imagine me....almost 40 now and still no beard so I definitely get looks and comments about how young I look at my age 🤣

Intersex person here who had the 3rd puberty using T when 20. I too was perceived as young for a looong time. It was great!

Thank you for talking about this because I definitely relate to this immensely. I am pre-everything but frequently have people thinking I am 13-15 years old. The other day someone in a ticket office asked if I was under 15 and needed a child discount. I'm actually 24 about to turn 25...but don't let it get you down. We are real grown men!

True story. People thought I was 22-25 when I was 17 and pre-t, now I only pass as a 14-16 year old boy. I hope I look like an adult soon enough and honestly sometimes this feels a bit creepy.

I’m 16 and I just started t but usually I pass for 11 or 12. In some ways it’s helpful because I can pay the kids price for things but also it annoys me when guys younger than me look older than me and talk down to me.

I had the same experience but I kinda loved it haha. I started T at 17 and actually passed most of the time for a year prior to that, but I had people calling me "buddy" and stuff a couple months in and it was so funny haha. I remember going to my first barber a couple months on T and I think he thought I was like 14 or 15 and I remember thinking the way he was treating me was really funny. Since the gap between my actual age and the age I appeared as wasn't huge, it wasn't a big deal, but it is a very FTM specific experience and it's hard to explain to people. It's just one of those things you have to live to understand.

I totally feel you, I think I aged like 2-3 years after T lol. Pre-t I was seen as a 12 to 14 y-o and now people give me 15 or 16 (a year on T) I hope I can pass as an adult in a year! Lol

Oh i feel you, im younger but i still feel like ppl think im like what? 15? While im 18 and its so sad sometimes. So im just praying for some facial hair and waiting for time to pass. Coz things will change for the better

Haha, I'm 23 and I haven't done any medical transition and I still look 16... In winter clothes I can look even younger, like 2 years ago I was asked ID in a pg13 movie. Sadly I don't usually pass as boy, but occassionally I do.

God, I already am seen as younger than I am (32, appear like i'm in my early to mid 20s) and I know, intellectually, this will increase once I start transitioning.. but that's so hard to actually understand

I am turning 34 and I get asked for ID lol my ex till he was 28 got asked for ID and he is CIS male . I always got asked before I came out

late?!?! barely anyone in my country even starts T before 30 years old.... I am 31 and still not close to getting on T... other reasons too, but still. most people are around 30.

Same. I couldn't put a number at all but I thought 30s or maybe 40s. Not the other way around.

😂its crazy or astonishing that anyone would see you differently than you are & that's totally Not a 16 year old "boy"! You look completely like a 25 year old female! I do understand that individuals see what they want to see👀.(Good luck)😳
