Inside the U.S. people are presumed innocent, and law enforcement is supposed to have some sort of probable cause to justify questioning or detaining them or searching their belongings. Customs and immigration agents don't need probable cause to interrogate, detain, or search or detain the people who are trying to cross the U.S. border. The agents don't need permission and they don't need to explain their criteria. Once a person is out of the customs area and actually inside the U.S. border, the presumption of innocence is applied again, even if customs agents are bringing charges against the person for criminally attempting to import drugs.

The hassle with the Colombian chick, was just uncalled for; all I seen and heard was a lot of ego and jealousy of the girls success in life. What business is it really, of someone's other side gigs (social or otherwise)and/or other endeavors in their personal lives. They attempted straight up intimidation to gain information. She should have been allowed to go about her personal business, as soon as the tests showed negative. The counterfeit ring seizure. Why? I bet every one of the rings had some kind of intentional comical/whimsical misprint. Even if they were very lookalike, but, that doesn't make them counterfeit.

Miami has ALWAYS been a hub of drug smuggling, since the 70's. A lot of the times, the smugglers will "plant" an unsuspecting decoy, like this girl, so the officers will concentrate on an individual or sometimes, a group, so the real smugglers can blend in! I am sure things have changed since then, with x-rays and drug dogs, it's a bit more difficult.

Family and friends buy them tickets. A boyfriend or girlfriend could buy you a ticket. Those are not reasons to impound. They should be looking out for the real bad people. @@jerseybred732 you didn't get any drugs of the street at all. Let me illustrate this with another example.... If I go to let's say burger king and buy up all the food they have, do you think that burger king will stop selling food the next day??? Same goes for drug dealers. If you buy everything of them they are gonna go straight back to their provider get more and continue selling. That's just basic economics. You can fool yourself as much as you want telling yourself you are doing good deeds but if you really wanna do a good deed and make sure that children and drug users/addicts are safe... Write to your representative to make all drugs legal so quality and purity can be checked and so we can control under aged use as we do with alcohol and tobacco.
