I'd like to just take a moment to appreciate that Stede knew where the nearest knife was and went for it the second he thought he was being attacked. And he was drunk. Stede is actually quite the competent pirate captain, or knows how to appear so. He’s really badass. He just doesn’t do violence well. I look forward to season 2 when he continues to play the vulnerable posh boy until the attacking party realise too late and he brings out a unique crazy dark side that works for his rep and character.

That moment was so satisfying! Up to that point Stede put up with CJ’s crap for Ed’s sake while CJ walked all over him, but as soon as he killed Karl, Stede was so done and he was there to defend his crew against this jackass with firm confidence. No hesitation, just GTFO. I was so proud of him. 🥹 Also, Stede’s hottest when he competently takes charge of things. ❤️

I want S2 Stede to be a sweet, bumbling badass who is a bloodthirsty pirate in frilly clothes and doesn't mind killing people when necessary (as in the hoity-toity ship).

I really hope we get more moments similar to the “unhand me or bleed” scene in season 2, It shows how much he’s changed from the beginning of the series to the end of season 1, and it was pretty badass.

That last scene of Stede is so fucking beautiful I literally cannot deal with it. Goddamn.

I know this is about Stede, and I love Stede and everything he says (I keep saying, "Hi, all!" in his fantastic way) but the way Ivan (Guz Khan) says, "Oi!" Like, ow-ay. It's so London hahah

Someone pointed out how he had suggested earlier to his father that he marry for love, and his father said peasants marry for love, and that by giving up all of his wealth, Stede is becoming a peasant so he can go marry for love! 🥹❤️ I feel totally normal about this.

First time I ever saw him, I knew immediately he was gonna be my baby boy. Then through the whole show seeing him become the pirate he was always meant to be but still being a softie made me happier.

Honestly, there’s always been a bit of a nutcase in Stede. If he’s got the right motivation and works on his self confidence, he could actually become sort of terrifying.

I think in that moment Ed saw the makings of truly monstrous pirate within Stede even surpassing anything he could do.

Stede in episode 10 and especially the ending scenes of him (like in this very vid) did things to me I never thought possible lmao

I’ve been all over the map with this show. Finally arriving at loving it more than I would ever have imagined. Great way to repurpose two truly despicable historical figures!

Actually Blackbeards reputation may be a bit overhyped. He often didn‘t even bomb ships which had no/ few canons on board, only robbed them and then let them go their „merry way“. This was eventually his downfall as the governor of Virginia tricked him into bording a sloop without canons but many hidden men under deck who ambushed him and cut off his head😢

@@hinasakukimi nah no shade, I'm replying to both of you bc I don't see the need to apply any "top/bottom" labels to either of them (or any relationship, for that matter). The concept of conflating sexual preferences with personality traits is very weird imo, and in my opinion, is just a way of adding heteronormative gender roles into homosexual/queer relationships, where there should be no heteronormativity at all. The whole point of queer relationships is that they are not heteronormative. Even with all that, Stede and Ed are just two middle aged guys with some physical problems who don't seem all too familiar with what their relationship might entail. Like I said, they're in love, it doesn't matter

My favorite part about OFMD is that the characters and scenarios are absolutely ridiculous (in the best way) but they’re character arcs are also really relatable, so much so that you almost want to cry for them as they figure themselves out and start to be happy 🥹🥰
