As I watch you talk through your process and aesthetic, I am reminded of Mr. Rogers, a mainstay of public television in this country. His programming was aimed at young people, but he also connected with their parents in his patient and methodical way of observing, feeling and sensing the world. He modeled and taught generations to look at our world, examine and question, and appreciate life’s many journeys of discoveries. There! I am beginning to appreciate what I and others appreciate in your weekly vlogs. Love you lots! Even on Sundays filled with family and friends, I look forward to checking in wit you!

@@thelasthomelyhouse He was a true ,sweet soul. I still miss him. I worked with very young children all my working life and he was a great resource. I remember hearing on the radio that he'd passed away as my husband and I were on our way to Hilton Head, S.C. to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Yes you do have a Mr. Rodgers vibe for me as well. “I just like putting the fabrics together and let the fabrics do the talking” Thank you, Kate!
Your Liberty collection has kept me coming back for a good long time now. I was happy for months after seeing that there was not only a suitcase full of Liberty in existance, but that it was in the hands of a person who loved it as it should be loved.

On May 6 2019 my family and I were celebrating my daughter's college graduation. What a wonderful weekend that was!
Many, many years ago (more than 2), I bought rolls of gridded iron on interfacing with this project in mind. I was much younger then and found it all too fittily, haha. But now I have everything I need, including the time, and I enjoy fittilly things that make our home a home. Bits of fabric that I love sitting in drawers waiting for inspiration. And there you are once again to provide that inspiration. It is over 100 degrees for the second day here in the Pacific Northwest. It will be again tomorrow. Way out of our comfort zone. No iron will be plugged in for a time now. But the possibilities are endless. Thank you, Kate. Please give Anna a hello also. You two make a sweet team.

Hi Kate ,this is Roxanna Fisher sure like you're projects , and Looking forward to seeing part two when do you get up to to do all your project's start I sure would Love to watch you work on everything you do ok
Liberty of London is beautiful made up into almost anything. I missed seeing Norma in this episode.
You could put it between two panes of glass and put them in a picture frame and hang it in your windows behind you at the sewing machine. Would be so pretty with the light coming through it.
It would be so pretty to find an old frame and mount it to the frame with no back on it. Then you could attach some pretty ribbon and hang it from the window! It could be like a sun catcher! Love the Liberty fabric! It’s hard to find here in the US and if I do find some, it’s super expensive! So, I live vicariously through you! Hope you have a wonderful week!

So nice spending a morning sewing with you, Kate. Those pillows are very charming!! Your postage stamp projects always make me happy. They remind me of how women used to take every piece of scrap fabric they could find and make beautiful postage stamp quilts so that nothing went to waste. I love them!
Your treehouse could use some “stained glass” don’t you think?
I'm delighted to keep finding posts I haven't seen before. When I've had a very busy day your video's Kate are the most relaxing thing I know.
I think I would have been tempted to bind it and put tassels on and hang it diagonally... very pretty
Kate, your stained glass curtains are pure magic! 😍
No apology required at least in my book. Since I found your channel which has been a couple of months, you have motivated me to pick up my quilting again and work on projects that haven't seen the sewing machine for 15 years. So for that Kate, I say Thank you xoxoxo

Kate, I agree so much with Cassandra. I have thought many times, you are another Mr. Rogers! One of the reasons I watch you so ardently.
You are absolutely amazing! I love your work and your stories! Thank you for sharing your talents with us. God Bless!
The cushions are lovely 😍 Zippers used to be very annoying to sew in for me ... The pins made everything so bumpy ... But one day I found out about double sided self advesive tape (a special one for fabric) to fix zippers before i sew them in: it‘s so much easier 😃
Gorgeous. I’ve made a couple of these and they’re quite fun. You’re right there’s all kinds of things the square can be used for.
Just nothing prettier than Liberty. I think I might do that and frame it between two pieces of glass. The light coming through is magical.❤️ Thanks again for all the fun and inspiration!
This was lovely…very relaxing watching you…but also motivating to make one of my own
Ooh I just love love love that, it’s so pretty...such a good idea to put light behind it...
I like to finish a pillow is a fold over back. That is there are two pieces that over lap each other and you sew right sides facing turn threw the over lap. Take care Kate

That appears to be the easiest method used by home sewers here where I live. I attend a sewing class held at a local county extension office. Those are places University of Kentucky has throughout our state.
Now, I’m feeling inspired to make some pixel items. Yours are so lovely! 💕
These are really lovely Kate. I am loving the cushion!
The stained glass effect is lovely
Well worth the wait, Kate! I do remember Part One vividly because I posed you a number of questions then because the pixel process absolutely fascinates me. I do love what you've done in Part Two -- a brilliant inspiration to 'let the fabric do the talking'. All your projects speak volumes! xx

Kate you could hand it on the tree house window a would look great 🥰
Lovely - so nice to finish things.
Hello there, little sewing wizard! That is the coolest trick I have ever seen, no pins, no slipping fabric. It looks great in the window. The frame can be hung using a fishing wire this way it looks as if it is floating. xoxo's Sandie

My new computer sound default is speech and it is much softer than movie or music mode. I have to change it every time - still to find out how it would stay loud as default. So for me the normal is also a bit quiet, have to have it full blast to hear properly.

Well that was fun. Like the pillows, not a sewer but I enjoyed watching even though I had no clue where you were going🤣you are creative Kate 👍
I really like these small quilted projects. Lovely pillows!
Lovely, a little bit of slow tv in the middle watching you hand sew 🥰. Loved it
Kate, 😁 You also have More squares flags hanging from the ceiling behind you! Love the squares🎉🎉🎉🎉
This method of joining tiny squares is fabulous if you want a lined/stiff finished fabric. A beautiful addition to your Handmade House. I'm about to start a bed quilt a la Kate's style, with a whole bunch of coordinating fabrics from Moda.
Kate I watch your videos as I sew, tonight I am making some tissues holder keyrings for Peruvian mother's day next Sunday... I was asked to make 20 ..so I am. Listening to you and sewing at the same time...
I’d love to see little squares in your treehouse window and some pillows on the bed. Imagine enjoying all the fabrics as you’re lying down for a little nap! You’re so lucky to have a treehouse! I was going to buy a stained glass piece to hang in one of my high sunroom windows that gets too much sun when watching TV in the Winter but since I have lots of floral fabrics have decided to make squares like you did. I’ve used this technique to make pictures (Christmas wreath, etc) but never thought of hanging one in my window. Thanks for the idea Kate! 🥰
How satisfying finishing and old WIP 😊
What a gentle little purr your machine has. 😊
Love Liberty fabrics! Beautiful panel! I dived into my fabric yesterday. Had an idea but I have so much fabric…. How did this happen? I just need to sew everyday and make a true dent into an out-of-control stash. Maybe some of the print cottons could be used for this! I even have a place in mind to hang two narrow panels. So, is it better to work in pillow sized blocks and connect into a panel? I love your curtains!
You could frame them between 2 pieces of glass and then you could hang it in any window. Might be pretty in the tree house.
There is something so charming about very small quilting squares; I think they’re called postage stamp quilts. And done in Liberty fabric makes them SO elegant! Thanks you so much Kate for all your teaching and sharing. ❤️
The sound was fine for me. Loved seeing this come together. ❤️

I did enjoy that. Years ago I did similar, though the interfacing was already marked in squares. I made a cushion cover in pretty florals. Not Liberty alas😊 You’re always so inspirational and calming. Love your Juki! 💕🇦🇺 ps. If you don’t want zips, Velcro also does the trick. Will go shopping now😊
It would make a lovely lampshade! The light would shine through it beautifully!💖💖
Fiddley is fun!! Oh yes, simplicity is so good in life❤️ I strive for it but it’s not easy to achieve, ha!! Love watching you sew, thanks Kate for the chat❤️
With the pixel panel that you made I have seen sewers snip the folded edge of the fabric at the intersections after sewing all of the seams in the first direction. It is supposed to make it easier to sew when you sew in the other direction.
That is Gorgeous Kate and a brilliant idea for cushions. This is a new technique for me and I can only manage small projects, so this will be ideal. Thank you Kate. 😊 xx
Such a comforting feeling that there are others with a few unfinished projects laying about. Those pillows are gorgeous Kate! Have a great week.
Hi Kate, speaking of fabric squares, you also used liberty fabric squares to make your EPP stuffed dog. I’m not good at zips either so I use an envelope closure for my pillows.

The Last Handmade House ❤️
I almost always handpick my zippers in and tell myself it's a fancy couture finish! well, it gets the job done, and neatly without having to mess with trying to machine sew them in.
Good things are worth waiting for! It encourages me to dig out old projects. It's lovely sitting in the US having coffee feeling like I was in your home.
I am glad you made a pillow cover out of that project. The yellow green couch needs more pillows.
Loved the sit on your lime green couch today. It’s always so relaxing and the tea was amazing
I was in Cannes-sur-Mere, France… and around… how time flies…
I remember this process! I made a wall hanging with pieces applique on top in places. Good job!
Life gets in the way of fun things sometimes.
I so wish I'd found your channel earlier but never mind I'm just grateful I've found it now 😊 x
The pixel squares are stunning! I have been catching up on all your fabulous videos and don’t seem able to stop! I am going to start a scrap quilt soon, the one that Terry Rowland design. Hi Kate. I actually enjoyed your video of the wonderfully placed Liberty fabric squares. I did wonder when we'd see part 2, and here it is. So exciting to see it. I love these beautiful "stained glass" panels you've made for the curtains, and the pillow coverings. Gives me hope to do things with color... different fabrics by the same mfg. Not really into some of the geometry of quilting, and am new to it, anyway, so keeping it simple is good. Thanks for all your terrific chat. Feels like a friend just sat and sewed with me for a few minutes.
Pillows and panel would look great up in Anna's new packing room, near/on the windows!
