Wow that had to be expensive, I would be scared to look. Binding will take time. I like non binded quilts. But I guess you would have to do them by hand.
Your mom would have been thrilled to see her tops turned into quilts; the finished product.

A precious moment in time. 💚
My Mama had just given away her 100th quilt when she died. She was a master quilter and I could never compete. Her choice of colors and designs was unparalleled. This episode was very meaningful to me and I thank you.

Makes me almost want to restart the paper pieced project I started when I was in my late teens ( or maybe I’ll wait and do it in 18 months when I’m 60!]
I’m a quilter and it warms my heart immensely to see you finishing your Mom’s quilts!! They will be cherished for years and you had the most influence in the process!! Kate, you are a gem!!❤️
It’s like looking through your Mum’s jewelry box, each one a treasure, but a quilt can hug you back!
For those of us who are quilters, what a reminder that our quilts will outlive us and go on to offer comfort for years to come. Thank you for sharing with us, Kate!
As a complete novice to the quilting world, I was surprised how much the quilting patterns augmented the quilt tops. What Cath is doing here is truly an art. It’s clear that you work well together and had similar visions for the work to be done. The fact that your outfits matched (or at least appeared to do so on my iPad) was a fun representation of that. I’m sure it wasn’t planned. Just a happy coincidence.
OH! MY! The quilts are utterly gorgeous! They were very very pretty before the quilting but they’ve been transformed! What treasures.🦌💌🎄🐑🙏🧶
Oh, they turned out so nice. Your family is going to be so thrilled to receive one of these. A lovely tribute to your mom. Happy week, Kate. Never a dull one for sure.
Such lovely quilts. The piecing by your mom, the quilting by Cath and your beautiful filming with Anna. Thank you for sharing your journey through your mom's work.. Well Done All around!
Oh this was such a JOY!!! I loved hearing Cath's thought/design process for each piece....and how lovely for her to witness your delight with her work. And how fabulous for us to have a good nosey in another beautiful workshop. Oh my goodness, as each one came out I squealed 'oooh, that's GORGEOUS'! Aww, quilty hugs....perfect. Such a lovely video, thank you all.
The wisdom of the two quilting minds coming together is fantabulous! Love the quilts! 💕❤️💕❤️💕
What a wonderful thing having your mom’s quilts quilted! What heirlooms they are!
Aren't they just wonderful! Lovingly crafted by your mum and to be finished off by her lovely daughter.
At the same instant you said "binding!" I said, "She'll be binding from now on!" Cath made fantastic choices with the stitching designs. Perfect density! Loved seeing your quilts transformed into a valued heirlooms. Thank you for sharing your experience with Cath.
Cath’s work is brilliant. Highly recommend her. So nice to have these projects that are a joint effort between your mum, you and Cath. Each of you putting your own special talents into them!

The work that you have done for Kate is stunning, and there’s obviously been a lot of thought and love gone into each project. Thank you!
Stunning. Absolutely stunning. I can't believe how quickly Cath got these done. I didn't expect to see them finished until next year. Great job Cath.

Isn't it amazing how the quilting breathes life into these quilts? I'm always amazed. These turned out beautifully. Your mom would be so proud!
The joy of sharing around the world through the internet! I love your channel! My husband is an artist and photographer, he has cancer and is struggling to recover from the effects of chemo, especially neuropathy. For many months he has been unable to make glass beads. I showed him your video with Phillippa and he is, as I write this, in his studio learning to fuse glass. Thank you for sharing your corner of the world and thank you to Phillippa for her demonstration!

Cath picked out the most perfect patterns for each quilt and the perfect threads as well. You have to be tickled pink in the end results of your mom's quilts. She is for sure good at what she does and each quilt has just the right amount of stitching in just the right places.

"You three" did a beautiful job.
I am gobsmacked! I hope I used that word correctly! 🤣 What a wonderful memory for your mum’s family! Each one of them is gorgeous! I have Victorian crazy quilts in progress, and now I am inspired to do even more! I’m sure your mum is smiling down on you!
That was joyful! What beautiful way of remembering your mum. Thanks so much for showing us the back as well.
I think that YOU should have the first choice of your Mum's quilts! You are the daughter, and you did all the work in the finishing of these quilts . . . and your Mum means more to you than to anyone else!
They are such beautiful works of art. I picture your mother smiling knowing all her handwork will bring joy to so many in her family. Blessings
This video was an absolute joy!! I am a new quilter so watching this was heavenly for me; so joyful and with such beauty. I truly enjoyed seeing the quilts and the patterns that Cath used to quilt them. It really is a joy to work with fabric and to see what you can create. Thank you so much for sharing, and I look forward to seeing the quilts fully completed.
Cath chose some beautiful motifs for these gorgeous quilts! I couldn’t agree more with Cath’s thought process behind the pantographs chosen for each very different quilt pattern. Love love love 💕!
It never ceases to amaze me to see the transformation quilts take once Cath had added her magic! Plus, what a lovely thing for everyone in your family to have - a handmade hug from your mum... I can think of nothing nicer... :) xxx

I have been eagerly anticipating this and I was not disappointed. How wonderful to have all of those quilts quilted! It is a wonderful thing you did, Kate, to get them finished for your mom. I hope the family enjoys them as much as we have.
Enjoyed this so much! The entire process has been wonderful to watch. My mother was a quilter right up until the time she passed at 86. She left me a dozen lap quilt sized tops to quilt as well as 4 very large ones. All was done by hand and I hope to finish them by hand as well. You inspire me, Kate. Thanks!
Such a skilled woman , Cath has such a good eye which combines with her experience in these finished quilts.. Until I watched this I didn't appreciate how the quilting could make or break a project. Thank you both for sharing this whole process. BTW, I want to mention how much I have enjoyed turning the pages of this year's calendar. It has been a treat.

What a wonderful legacy. Pieced by your Mum, finished by you and then finishing their journey at another generation. Quilts are so special for what they represent as well as their form and function. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Lucky family members to be given one of your mums' quilts. Hope you film the bindings as well as the finished covers🍃
Mum’s quilts turned out sooooo lovely!!! 😍✂️🧵
Kath has done a magnificent job! The quilting has brought the quilts to life!
Ooh. Looking forward to this! Going to make myself a cup of Whole Earth ‘no caf’ and sit and enjoy ❤️
Is there anything better than finishing quilts? Especially when they honor the original maker? She made lovely, lovely choices for quilting motifs. Thank You so much for sharing this!
Lovely to be back to see Cath and the beautiful quilts even more beautiful now. Cath is so kind and so talented, I’d happily trust her.

Kath, thank you for sharing your work space and lovely quilting designs. Kate is so pleased with the quilting designs on her mother's quilts. I'm glad that you enjoyed doing that for her. Take care and I'm hoping that you can get through all of the Christmas quilting in time to rest a bit before the BIG day! Cath did a beautiful job on the already beautiful quilts.
Oh Kate Mum’s quilts turned out beautiful from beginning to end. A job well done by all three of you. The family is very fortunate to have someone like you to put it all together so warm heartedly and with so much love and caring. Take care Kate and stay blessed. Lots of love.
So much fun! It’s like opening gifts! Each one is a treasure!
Kate, wouldn’t it be so much fun to pass the quilts along the lime green sofa and let all of us help with the binding? It happens to be one of my favorite tasks, binding. Really. I can’t imagine I’m the only one. The quilts are so beautiful. Your family will surely cherish them. ❤️

that's lovely - I think the string might be staying with me? maybe?
Kate, As a 3rd generation quilter myself watching you look over your mum’s quilts brings tears to my eyes. I miss my grandma and mom whenever I have questions or am seeking advice on a project. I smiled from ear to ear when you said you had to make one square on the string pieced quilt, as I also found completed squares for a brightly colored string pieced quilt among my moms quilts, needing one more square finished! How funny that is! Watching your videos is the last thing I do at the end of my day when the house is quiet. I so wish to share a cup with you and help you bind, bind, bind. It is truly the most favorite part of every quilt I make! Thanks for sharing your time with all of us watchers. You bring much joy. Carolyn

Just think of all the lovely nights by the fire watching ur programs with a nice cuppa, binding away.
I love to hear the inspiration of Cath picking the quilt motive ways. The Tulips, the butterflies and flowers, colour thread, and her enthusiasm for the new machine. She's very generous with the amount of fabric too, Kate. What gem of a woman.

Gardening is as fun as sewing! There are tons of good videos on YT, Hew Richards is in the UK, and there is one fellow I watch who does allotment gardening, probably just search allotment gardening. Good luck, every plant is an opportunity to learn, whether a great success or not. Green beans are a really good choice for a beginner, choose a bush bean, not a climber for small spaces.

What a difference the quilting makes to the quilts. They are really beautiful individually. Im glad I wont have to make a choice as to which one. Really hope the family get the ones you think they will like.

I have two favorites out of all those beautiful quilts. The square in square in the log cabin. She did such a beautiful job with her quilting machine. My mom has a quilting machine and she has gone back and finished making the quilts that she started 50 years ago. I can now appreciate the work my mom puts in to these quilts better after watching your video. I’m so happy for you that you can get your mom‘s quilts finished. It’s going to mean a lot to you and your family in the years to come.
Always love seeing a craftsman in their studio it’s fascinating. Such a lovely phrase “a quilty hug “ thanks for sharing 🤗
What beautiful work Cath does. Your quilts are exquisite. That style quilting makes a 2 for quilt. The backs are as beautiful as the tops. You can turn to the white side for summer. Thanks for sharing this video Kate. Have a Blessed day.
My absolute favorite is the Purple-y one! 💕👵🏻
Wow, Kate. What a wonderful legacy your mother has left behind. Beautifully, talented people in this world. Thank you for sharing.

I am so glad you did this wonderful patterned quilting for your mom's lovely pieced tops. Good show!
I have loved watching the videos of your mums quilts and the way you have treated them and the care you put into finishing them. I’ve often wondered what will happen to the works in progress I have going when the time comes I can’t be the one to finish them, I hope it’s as lovely as this. And as I watch this I’m doing a bit of slow stitching and thinking about how the binding might be my favorite part too. It’s slow and wonderful and you know you’re in the home stretch and the quilt has really come into its own. Very wonderful for you to share this with us.
