Learn 20 verbs you can use to be more concise in English. "Concise" means that what you say or write is short and clear. You remove all of the unnecessary words and details.
I know many students want to speak faster in English. Increasing your speed comes with time and lots of practice. But, it's not always about speed. Using concise language can help you express yourself in a clear way.
After every four verbs, I give you a mini gap-fill to help you review what you learned. Can you please let me know your score in the comments? Did you get 20/20? Or maybe 10/20?
Use the discussion questions at the end of this video. Answer the questions with a friend or speaking partner. The more you practice, the more comfortable you'll feel using these verbs in an English conversation.
1) How do you usually invigorate yourself when you're feeling tired or low on energy?
2) Have you ever moped around because of a bad day or situation? What helps you stop moping?
3) Can you share a time when you had to contemplate a difficult decision?
4) What are some common reasons people procrastinate?
5) What types of food should be refrigerated, and why is it important to store them properly?
6) What types of foods do you like to freeze for later use?
7) What items tend to accumulate in your home over time?
8) Can you think of a time when you overlooked a mistake? What problems did this cause?
9) Why do people vandalize public property?
10) Have you ever accidentally shattered something valuable?
11) What should someone do to help if they see someone hyperventilating?
12) Have you ever been reprimanded by a teacher or boss? How did it make you feel, and did you learn from it?
13) Why do people often binge on junk food? Do you ever binge-watch TV shows?
14) How do you like to pamper yourself or be pampered by others?
15) Can you think of a time when you needed to justify your actions or decisions to someone?

18) How can stress exacerbate health problems, and what strategies

Hello Arnels, could you discuss about the structure of "It had been a long time since l saw smile happily" Why does the sentence after "since" have negative meaning? I saw you smile happily, it means I didn't see you smile happily I hope you explain this structure that makes me crazy Thanks

good job teacher. Take a day-off for pampering yourself. I will justify it with the CEO. I knew the word overlook, it is usual in our restless society, we dont have enough time for everything, bingering down a pile of files on the table., so we are overlooking a lot of tasks without realizing, sometimes the mistake is huge and I have to let the worker go. Surely being fired could be this mate will be moped for a while. "pasar por alto: overlook"
