That's because we need to change it to: The United Corporations of America. Corporations get more representation than people, but congress loves using cases like this as an exercise in "see, we are doing something," when the truth is that it's just a facade.

It seems to me the key point that was mentioned and was not expanded on was the fact that the app developers contract clearly stated his intention to collect personal data. This should have rang alarm bells but didn't and Facebook signed the contract. Therefore it is Facebook that should be held to account for signing such a contract and allowing personal data to be collected which was then sold on. This fact obviously doesn't exonerate Cambridge Analytica but Facebook must share the blame.

Hard to remember everything to its entirety from back in 2008 when I signed up, but I remember reading, if you don't want your profile to be seen that you can select for only you to view your content.

Yes, he does let others get our information, he got caught out years ago and promised to change things. 4 days ago, Facebook asked me to sign up for the FACE RECOGNITION thing and I refused, I was told that if I didn't my account would be stopped! I still declined but my account is still going. There is more to it than what they are telling you about Facebook, I don't think it's anything to do with connecting the world HOW THEY SAY IT IS, there's more to it and I haven't quite put my finger on it yet, but I will. One doesn't belong to the Rockafell's family and be a goodie, badness runs through their veins...

THe question is : why can’t anyone rightfully delete a Facebook account without going through Facebook admin. It sucks cause you have to write a note and wait three months for the account to be permanently deleted or be inactive for a certain amount of months to be deleted. Create a DELETE NOW option.

When people install Facebook and confirm to the terms and service, they are giving permission to the sharing of their information. They have the right to decline the TSA and not using Facebook. Furthermore people are under their own control of what information they share on Facebook.

ThisIsTheEndPt2 are u aware of why he’s there or no? He’s not there because of something he or facebook did, rather something they didn’t do. He isn’t being accused of selling information to people or anything like that. A developer who had access to data of fb users sold that info to someone else. When fb found out they reached out to both parties and told them to stop whatever they were doing and delete all the information they had on the users. The parties agreed and signed legal documents saying they deleted the info (which was a lie). The only thing fb did wrong here was not try harder to make sure these people actually deleted the info.

For someone who is CEO, invented Facebook (in his dorm room) owns Facebook, Instagram doesn’t know (hahaha) about what his company’s do or how it’s run And he does have a monopoly. He broke the law and he needs to be held accountable for this crime. He knew what was going on. We have heard that here. All you have to do is listen to his answers. I don’t know.
