As a dealer local to where the largest majority of RVs are produced I get a lot of requests to record these factory tours. I'm usually so locked down at the store here at Haylett RV that I just cannot get away. Today, however, I bit the bullet, cleared my schedule, and made the trip to Jayco RV's campus in Middlebury, IN!
They were kind enough to grant me access to their facilities & I was able to get four of these plant tours created! This will be the first of a Jayco Factory Tour Mini Series that starts with North Point and Pinnacle, then Eagle, Jay Flight, and finally the Jay Feather/White Hawk facility!
So give Jayco a big thanks for allowing me the time and access to record this video, click that like button, subscribe, and if you missed them or need extra references enjoy the links to other Jayco Factory Tours I've been able to record previously below as well as some Jayco vs. Jayco brand comparisons!

Hey got a question , I’m a home builder and honestly I don’t understand why the RV industry isn’t using spray foam on the underside of the plywood floor at least . I get why they don’t do it in the walls unless it’s a DRV with 3 inch walls but the floors on RVs are cold in winter and there’s a ton of loss in summer with Air conditioning . We use it everywhere in homes and it makes such a difference . They could spray it while the chassis is upside down. Easy and a huge selling point .
@nineofhearts6020
3 жыл бұрын
They could even do the roof , labor wise it would be less and be much faster. Bat insulation never seals tight and sucks to work with. It would cut down on sound as well. . I’m not a spray foam salesman or care to be one I just see a more efficient way of building things with less labor. It’s a no brainer . Weight shouldn’t be a problem either .
If the rest of the RV Dealer community took as much interest in their present, and future customers as Haylett RV does, nobody would ever own a house again! Thank You Josh for the "scenes behind the scenes" of the RV build processes! ~Lou
Now THAT is a true RV man. A man that can name the RVs by number before they’re even put together.

That's so cool to actually see how much work goes into producing a RV
Hi Josh, as I am watching the tour it came to my mind, solar is the new tech that most people want. Manufactures should start installing a conduit from the roof to the storage area so that wiring can be run at anytime for aftermarket solar. Would make it better for everyone

If you can get more videos of off grid and off road designed campers I think that would be great. Not something I personally am looking for but it sure seems that’s where the market is moving. For me personally I would like to see more comparison videos. Quality, features etc between brands

Amish, that explains a lot. Saying Amish is like saying Japanese or German built, at least that’s what I hear. I love how they take pride in their quality of build

Thanks Josh, that was super interesting and informative too. I love to see how things are made in general but this is applicable too. 👍🏻
We went out and watched them build the campers before we purchased one it was very informational it's a must do for anyone that wants to see or purchase a camper
Invaluable! Whether your an engineer an RV nerd or just shopping there’s something here for everyone. This provides context for the Jayco difference as well as just understanding an RV in general. Great job Josh, thanks Haylett RV.
I really appreciate you taking us with you on these factory tours. It certainly gives us a view of what goes into the manufacturing process of different brands that we would not likely otherwise see. Thanks Josh🙏
Thanks Josh, love to see how any manufacturer builds their rv’s.
Great video. Love to see the "behind the scenes" of construction. It gives so much more information than just the cosmetic aspects. That's a valuable bit of information. Thank you.
My wife & I bought a 2021 321RSTS Thanks to your reviews of jayco. We love our (tree house) Rv. This is our second rv in four years.
Thanks for the inside view. I have a new appreciation for how these RVs are engineered and built.
We've had really good luck with our Jayco the past 5 years. We paid a little more than the other competitors we looked at, but feel it was well worth it . We've had a couple of minor issues but nothing I haven't been able to fix.
Thanks Nerd! Stop Number Three down the rabbit hole of factory tours!
Good to know. A lot goes into making one of these, but most just see a great looking finished product. Thanks. Good job.
Great, real look at the manufacturing process, do more of this so we can see quality!
You looked as happy as a fat kid in a candy store Josh! That stack of LP tanks outside was awesome!
Oh, I like those Pinnacles. Love seeing what you normally cannot see once they're done. Makes you understand more about why they're priced the way they are.

Great look inside a Jayco Fifth Wheel with your added insight and knowledge. We took a tour about 15 years ago, not up close like you. Thanks for this video.
Appreciate these ‘info’ videos more than you know. No such thing as too much knowledge in anything you’re in to. Glad the line was shut down, imagine you can’t hear yourself think with everything running. We always shut down our production for new customer tours so they don’t feel like they are being shouted at. Respect for the workers faith

Thank you Josh for making this video! We have a North Point 377RLBH on order right now and I am so thrilled to see how it’s constructed! It calms my nerves a little bit more about our RV being constructed during these times of backlogs and “let’s hurry up and get them out the door” mentality. Jayco seems to be doing it right!
I really enjoy the manufacturer tours you are posting.
Josh, I love your videos ... thank you so much!
Awesome video, I retired from Boeing and some of what I did I worked on the assembly line for the Boeing 727,747, 707, 757 airliner and we build them in stages, I work the structure part, did some work install the wings the k-flaps and a lot in the inside. It's interesting to see all that goes on inside those big jets, I think that you would be amaze on how they are build. Building the big jumbo jet airliner they look a whole lot worse than the rv's inside, the mess that is made but as they go down the line it start to come together so when the buyer come in to inspect there airliner they are very nice.
We love our North Point

There’s nothing stronger out there
I’m here to see the tolerances for wiring/plumbing purchases in the floors. I understand bigger openings make for easier wire/pipe chasing, but it makes it easier for critters to get in, belly skins or not.
Thank you for doing this on-site. Very informative.
That’s really cool. I love seeing how they’re made. Looking forward to the other tours.

Great insights. Often hear how poorly RVs are made but that was actually impressive. Had to cut the bottom cover to access a leaking tank on my current RV... yes duct tape hold it in place now. Had to laugh. Also appreciate the extra effort to provide an access panel. That is the kind of thing 2nd time buyers would appreciate. Thanks!

This was such a great video. Thanks for respecting the Amish workers that do not liked to be filmed. So many people think its a game to get a picture of them. 🤨 Wow that roof was awesome. Very much appreciated!
Wow! After seeing how they build them it baffles me even further how they can't organize the wiring and plumbing in a better and more professional manner. And the amount of scrap laying on the floor that could easily be swept up and cleaned is unbelievable. Not a lot of pride by the folks on the assembly line as I've noticed in my new 2021 RLTS that I'm reinstalling pex that was kinked and leaking. I cleaned up many many wires that were rubbing on things and secured some stuff in my basement area with a simple extra screw. My refrigerator has all sorts of busted plastic on the bottom you cannot see unless you take stuff apart. This comment comes from me spending big money on one recently. Now to see how the longevity is...
