Lyrics
Master of the darkness • Siren of the storm • Whisper in the silence • The king of nevermore • Keeper of the secrets • Reaper in the fall • Reigning here eternal • The king of nevermore
The bells will ring • Virtue extolled • Behold, destiny, thy guidance • Master of dominion, he’s the shadow on the wall • His arms are always open • He’s the name we leave unspoken • He’s the king of nevermore • The harbinger of all • Dark matters • Breaker of the cycle • Seeker of the soul • Shepherd in the ether • Through the gates of nevermore • Look just beyond the pale • The truth is there to see for one and all • The answers that you seek • Lie just beyond his open door
The bells will ring • Virtue extolled • Behold, destiny, thy guidance • Master of dominion, he’s the shadow on the wall • His arms are always open • He’s the name we leave unspoken • He’s the king of nevermore • The harbinger of all • Dark matters • In death we all sing the hymns of nevermore • Nevermore • The promise, the constant • The requiem for every soul • Polaris inside us • We sing the hymns of nevermore • The harbinger of all • Dark matters.

And what i personally love in this is that even though they show supernatural being (death) they don't portray that their souls go to heaven or similar but rather simply they portray them becoming pure energy again and giving it back to nature where it was borrowed all the time.
My favorite part is when death kneels at the end of the little girl. Even death is humbled by the passing of a child....but at least she gets to be reunited with her dog. This is truly a beautiful video.
I haven't listened to them in YEARS! My 13 yr old was like "mom check out this new band" CHILD THIS IS NOT A NEW BAND! They've been around longer than you! So we've been binging all of their albums. This is her favorite song right now & I absolutely love it! I'm reliving my teen years through her as she discovers all my favorite bands 😍

What loosing faith? It's clear it was never there! It's all embarrassing and pathetic. You got so many things to sing about, and this is what you choose?
When you look at what Parkway Drive has been through in the last 7 years, the death of Architects guitarist Tom Searle to cancer who they were touring with, soon after the band lost a very close friend to cancer, and around that time Winston lost his dog Monty to cancer. They've been hit in the face with death, the pandemic, internal issues and family issues. These guys are a power house, they channel that anger, pain, hate, frustration, anguish and dread in a way that most can't. I think this new album will be a darker and deeper continuation of Reverence. With Glitch and now The Greatest Fear, I can already tell there's a definite deep heavy story about to be told.

"He's the shadow on the wall" ..a few years ago, I was casually walking through my apartment and noticed a particularly fiery sunset light appear on a wall like i've never seen before with my shadow - a shadow - standing in the midst. I immediately froze because I sensed the shadow staring back at me and reading my thoughts in the bright red and orange canvas. I stayed there until the bright sunset light and shadow faded and I sensed everything return to normal. Sometimes, I really do wonder if there wasn't something "beyond" happening in that moment. I actually made a painting of that moment and will never forget it.
Im too old to give a damn about the whole "true hardcore" scene anymore. All I know is that this is a beautiful song with a perhaps even more beautiful video. I love it!
Song's okay. Video is pretty cool. I love that Jeff always looks like he's having the time of his life: doesn't matter if he's headlining Wacken or performing in a music video.
I don’t care who you are, but nothing can beat that guitar slap at 3:15 in the middle of a desert. You’d feel like a god.

Real talent..I love this band. Kids now a days have no idea what good music is.

That's what the last generation said about the generation after them, and then this generation will say about the next one. Pick a side already
I know how serious this song is, and its deeper meaning that has really broken me at times. BUT I cant help to chuckle at the ant going for one hell of a bop at 4:55
The love I have for this band is unmeasurable. Did not expect something like this, old parkway, new parkway. They are just as good as they have ever been 👏

I went to a system of a down concert, while I was waiting for the band and they arranged everything for them to play, this beautiful band was playing in the background, I didn't know how to know their name so I used Shazam app, since that day I fell in love with PWD, from Argentina to the world 🖤
This song and video perfectly explains spirituality.
I just love how parkway have their own distinctive sound where as other bands can be hard to tell apart... AUSSIE METAL SLAYING 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I feel like this album is again going to touch heavy, dark topics as Reverance did in my opinion. Love it.

The most "traditional heavy metal" of the Metal Core bands... In this case its almost Power Metal, love it!
I cant express in words what your music does for me, never stop
This is probably my favorite Parkway song for a while now. All the best aspects of PWD, poetic lyricism, melodic riffs, heavy low end, catchy rhythm and great tones. I love this sound.

I remember running into Jeff and Ben at a restaurant in Christchurch New Zealand over a decade ago and being so starstruck as a teenager. Then meeting Winston the same night and having him shake my hand, that was a real moment for me. It's weird looking back and thinking about that listening to a lot of this music.

Parkway Drive just continues to evolve over time. "The Greatest Fear" is a paced, methodical burn that slams in its final seconds of life. I know this isn't old Parkway Drive, but we all grow. This album is already off to a powerful start. Long-time fan who would love to see Winston wail live.

I'm 50 and a meatal head through and through. didn't know who Parkway Drive was until last summer when I heard vise grip and every since then I can't get enough of these guys this just happens to be my favorite song right now. In my defense I don't listen to the radio so sometimes it's years before I find out who some absolutely fantastic bands are. I'll be listening to these guys for the next 50 years. Parkway Drive ranks right up there with Iron Maiden and all the other great artists of Metal
Loved it Fellas! Jeff the lead sections are beautiful man. It's not over done either, just making the guitar sing for us! Yew

Woah! What a cinematic experience. Can't wait for the new album!
after sitting with Glitch for about a month it’s grown on me & it’s become a song i actually listen to pretty heavily & now we’re back with another good track. i really love the more cinematic approach they’ve taken too. keen for the new album!

Epic boys 🤘
What a beautiful Intro with the Choir Like Voices. And the Riff and Drum after he sits on the Throne, simple, stripped down, it stucks with you. A great example that you don´t need as many notes and fast as possible, to make a good song.
This is currently my favorite song. And as someone beginning photography and videography, I just can’t help but appreciate the different locations these scenes were taken in and the editing. I love everything about this song 🙌🏼

This song absolutely rips! The vocals, guitars and drums on fuckin point. I fuckin love it! The boys from down under are killin it, hard!
This band just drops bangers like it's the simplest task in metal.....and this video is epic.
I'm an oldschool fan of PWD and not a fan of the new stuff. But I do respect them and am glad they're still rocking after all these years. Just hope they don't forget about their U.S. fans when touring. We've been waiting. Love you guys!
This song and video is the definition of masterpiece. Beautiful , powerful, just wow.
I love this band so much. They never change and stay true to who they are. Thank you, Parkway Drive.
I don't usually listen to PWD, but I have a of of respect for them as a band for sticking out for so long and constantly challenging themselves with their music. I heard they got a lot of crap for their last single, but that's ok. Because songs like this make them all shut up and listen. The guitars are crisp and crunchy on this track, the production is amazing, and the vocals are outstanding. My fav part of this song honestly. I hope they don't lose the spark they have and continue to drop quality songs like this every time.
This album is so fucming great! Definitely one of my top 5 of the year!
Fuck. Why do I always tear up when the reaper, comes down to the child and guides her to the door only for her dog to greet her before she goes to the great beyond.
