Want to hear more? I went to a show last year and was at the front with many other fellow metalheads. There was a lady who had a small boy with her, obviously her son and asked if he could be at the very front to see the band. We were more than happy to do that. She asked myself and another dude next to me to help shield him in case of moshes and crowd surfing and we did. But nobody crowd surfed or moshed during the show, it turned out they all knew there was a kid there and didn't want to risk hurting him. I do recall a couple of girls behind me telling the guys around them not to mosh because of the boy. His mother thanked us for looking after him. We are not even remotely the monsters or troublemakers that some ignorant fools like to make us out to be.

Did any of you guys think about the fact that Vice Grip could just be for live shows, something to get the crowd excited? Or since the new album is called Ire, this is the first song and the album gets progressively darker and heavier. This song isn't perfect but I still like it. Just because its lighter and overall pretty different from their other stuff, doesn't mean they're selling out. Don't jump to conclusions. Also, I don't know why I've seen so many people are hating on ABR's new album on this video. Its fucking awesome, nearly as good as Rescue and Restore.

How was the fall on the AF Great Wall?

Look at all the hardcore kids getting pissy because there was actually a bit of melody to the new song rather than fast riffs and breakdowns throughout the whole thing. This sounds like it'll be fucking massive live and I love it. That and 1st person skydiving in 4K, holy shit.

AndyGoodstuff I don't dislike this song, but I do hope the whole album isn't like this. That being said.. A lot of PW's songs had a lot of melodies lol. And I agree it probably will be fun live with some of the catch vocal parts.

I can't count the number of times I've heard people say that heavy metal music has nothing to offer.... there's nothing to it....it's just noise....nothing uplifting about it. This song, along with many others, is VERY uplifting. "One life...one shot....GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT!!!!!!"

I am convinced this song gives me super human strength while working out.

I love how much Ben is rocking out on drums.

Watch the behind the scenes... They didn't cheat the system, they had to do over 9 jumps before they could jump solo etc...

PWD - "Wild Eyes", 2013. Harmonic chanting to fill in and bring together the vocals. Good song. Nobody complains. PWD - "Vice Grip", 2015. a sing-along section in the chorus to get the crowd hype live. Outraged fans saying how "soft" they got and how they "sold out" to the mainstream.

That guitar riff at the the start lures you in, and then the video and Winston's amazing screams trap you. The epic guitar solo at the end leaves you repeating the song again and again...

People ask me all the time how I listen to bands like this and ask how can I understand the lyrics. I often wonder how people don’t listen to this. How do you not understand the lyrics? I sometimes wonder if people that have experienced pain, trauma, anxiety/depression are the only ones that can feel this kind of music.

Imo metal does have lyrics that can be hard to understand but at the same time only lyrically due to vocals but you can feel what they are saying and by extension discern what they are trying to say. Example: Heaven Shall Burn’s Combat which is about kids being drafted into the military and their lives being ruined and their childhoods becoming just a facade and maybe not even real to them given their often lack of a perceived cruelty in the world. It’s a shock to their minds but the song itself is hard to understand lyrically given the vocals in fact I had to look up the lyrics but the vocals at the same time push to hammer their raw message forward to the point that yes lyrics help to understand it but the vocals do more than enough to sell the true meaning of the song not to mention the video. That’s why I love metal so much. The vocals, the instruments and everything else give way to a true masterpiece in almost every metal song in existence.
