It was nice to hear your story Shamsa, thanks for sharing it with us. You certainly do not fit the stereotype which people associate with Parkinson's, and I think that will challenge preconceptions when they hear your story...which is a good thing! Best wishes to you and your family.

I have just watched all your videos Shamsa. What a delight you are! Even with Parkinson's. I was diagnosed 11 years ago at the age of 58. I am 69 in March. Many of the things you said struck a chord with me. Like you I wait for those drugs to kick in and when they do, and I know I can function reasonably well then I like to get on and do things. I don't do many 'passive' things any more like watching TV, or reading but I have posted a few videos on topics I am passionate about - Maths(I used to be a Maths teacher) , I am real 'geek' when it comes to geometrical modelling. I do lots of physical activities and like you I try to be as positive as possible. I also know that there are many difficult periods as well but I try to fend off any 'self-pity' (not always successfully.) It did my heart good to see your lovely smile and your indomitable spirit. I wish you well and thank you for posting these videos. Cheers. Tom Heyes.

It’s so sad to see your partner change and it’s so hard to deal with. I love my husband and I miss who he was. He isn’t able to help with anything much anymore and the load is on me completely. It’s hard and it makes me angry at the disease. I hope you can get the DBS surgery because my husband is going to have it. It can be live changing in a good way.
