Loved mine for about 30 years now! Engineered for 9s, and seems to tolerate really low action well. I appreciate this guitar even more now that arthritis has kicked in!

One of the most thoughtfully and intentionally designed guitars to date and in my opinion the best playing 6 string ever made.

Love the Parker Fly! Such a great guitar! I had a NiteFly that kind of sucked really and then I had two Fly Deluxe. One in Trans blue (still have it) and a natural mahogany that played like a dream!

You missed on a lot of key points, the first being the question you posed in the title. They're not for everyone, but they are a good guitar. The upper horn being pointy against the chest is one of the biggest complaints. Lack of parts availability is probably the second downfall. Ken Parker also helped developed the manufacturing process. The carbon fiber weave is not injected, it is wrapped and strengthens what is a very thin body-to-neck joint and also the headstock. The frets are surface-mounted onto the fretboard, not into it. The design was intended to simplify maintenance, though they do play quite nicely. It's worth mentioning that the tremelo uses a ribbon spring that must be swapped out to match the string gauge. Over tightening the dial can cause the spring to pop through the top of the body. Another nice thing about these guitars is they use a TRS stereo output jack that allows isolation of the piezo and magnetic pickups which can be sent to different amps. One last point to make (to anyone contemplating one of these guitars) is to be aware that they had manufacturing issues around 2008 that resulted in a lot of fret and fingerboard delamination issues.

Hi. How you know if is a Deluxe, classic or standard and the year? Mine is exactly the same as yours in blue, with the serial 168037BP USA and only says Fly in the back of the head stock like yours. Thanks

Seems that it's made on 168. day. 3rd guitar that day (03), in the year 1997. (7). BP indicates Basswood and Poplar are woods used for that guitar.

They are not “injected” with carbon fiber. The back of the body and neck of the guitar have a carbon fiber exoskeleton baked on to them. They used pizza ovens! 🤣
