I just got my V3’s today. I have a Sidewalker. Upgraded from the Bear 155 to 165 V3. I got purple knuckles bushings sitting on fatty Hoggs. I’m stoked to go try the new setup in the morning 🤙🏾

I don't know if you've tried these yet but riptide magnums are bushings specifically designed to fit well in the bushing seat of Paris trucks. they are a bit larger and span the whole bushing seat. They actually can stop a lot of the slop and are stable too, I've gone up to 40mph on them with full control. I agree though, normally fast standup slides on these trucks can be a bit sketchy, especially with the narrower ones. Keep up the good work dude! My local community and I really appreciate the content you create

In the accompanying writeup I did talk about Magnums! I have never used em but I reckoned something that fit in the bushing seat would reduce slop a lot. I wish I had a bunch to mess with but just not a viable investment for me at the moment. Much appreciated man! More content on the way :)

On my nick broms rolling tree acedia I run 150mm v3 trucks. 50 degrees front, 43 in the back. I went with riptide WFB magnums, can't remember the duros, but I absolutely love this set up. I don't do much freeriding, and when I do, I use a different set up, so the above mentioned set up is my pure downhill ride. It feels a bit like when I ride my motorcycle. I can just dive in and out of turns and my input feels very immediate. No lag and the beefier bushings really help with the slop. It's still there and on really rough roads it can get sketch super quick, but that may also just be me hitting the edge of my comfort zone. When I do have to slide with this set up, it feels like there is this very thin line between sliding on the board, and sliding on my butt lol. I feel I have to be very precise on where and how I apply my weight to initiate and to maintain the slide or it ends up twitching and throwing me off or icing out. Especially when going faster than 30mph. Really nice and nimble trucks for smooth pure downhill, but I feel they limit progression once you get to a certain point.

GOod setup! I highyl recommend getting a randal plate and dewegding it so you're running 50/30 or even 50/25. With that small of a WB no wonder you can't slide consistently, it must be pretty hard to control. 50/43 isn't the best on that small of WB! Please give it a try and let me know what you think

I ride two pairs of Paris: V2-180mm on my Arbor DropCruiser 38" board and I bought a V3-150mm set for my new Loaded Coyote. In my opinion, they are great trucks for a relaxed ride, but I started to notice that when I got more speed (slow speed not downhill speeds), they were a little unstable. So I replaced the original bushings with Venom 94A cones (white), to see if it was from there. Everything became more stiff and comfortable for me but I still don't have much confidence. Any slight slight movement of the feet, the board turns very quickly, especially the Loaded Coyote board. As I'm a heavy rider (90kg or 198lb), i think I really have to bet on barrel/barrel bushings before blaming my heavy feet on the board. Anyway, I'm very happy with them. They are very balanced and very responsive and this is probably where the problem lies to me. They are good for a relaxing ride or dancing or for the city from A to B point. By the way, I congratulate the great work that has been done by Downhill254. Keep it up and I hope to continue to have more good information about the skateboard world!!!!

@@downhill254skate I have polar bear 155s and I like those too. I think I'd like Paris 150s more on the 9.75 deck. I like rkp on my cruisers if the height doesn't bother me. I didn't like them on my ATV jammer, too short. I put the polar bears on the jammer and it feels nice. I think stock it's 130mm polar bears but I got my deck separate. I mostly purchased this deck in anticipation of making a surf skate. Then I learned about surf skating and that's why I got the rally cat. It's my ideal surf skate wheelbase. And with the rocker if I needed to move my trucks the tail was still the tail and usable. The rally cat has so much dip it's like riding a drop through or drop down.

Paris' site in the US is promising slop stopper inserts "COMING SOON". I think that'll do the trick. I like that the V3s have urethane pivot cups. Pretty much ticks all the boxes.

@@downhill254skate I don’t feel any slop at all, feel more consistent while doing slides and the return to center is better, so while passing through rocks or imperfections doesn’t make them react that much, are more stable. I mainly do freeride and skate long distances so have to pass ugly roads commonly and noticed that change inmmedeatly. Also the best formula the insert has the more time it will last, hope it’s useful for you, you skate too good man keep it that way 🔥🤙🏼

I just recently switched my main dh deck from cRonins to my v3's, setup is a Chroma Aurora, 165 47/43 No boardside washers, cupped roadside, 87/87 93/90 usually runnin snakes or kevos. I've found running no washers boardside can really give them a more lively feel while also remaining stable at somewhat decent speeds, want to do more experimenting as far as how far I can push them until they become unstable though. I agree with everything u said they really are some of the best all around cast trucks on the market right now, cant stop myself from coming back to paris. Curious though as far as what you think in terms of cal 3's vs gen 6's really wantin to grab a set but cant figure out which to pickup.

SOunds like a really sick setup. Very curious about the no boardside washer ... never tried running that in Paris, just didn't feel right to me. Super good setup though, I've also never enjoyed small splits - again they never felt right to me hahaha. But yeah, sick deck as well. Cals are more aggressive with the turning, Bears want to lean and carve a little more, Just really go for which ever is available, can't go wrong between em

@@downhill254skate Thank ya man! Yeah this deck is seriously my dream board I went through so many looking for something just like it, such a shame Chroma stopped production. But for sure give the paris's with no washer boardside a shot it might suprise ya how much more lively they feel while still maintaining pretty good stability from my experience so far. Seriously appreciate the info on the bears and cals, sounding like bears may be slightly more my style.
