Those old rackets play like they were built to keep the ball IN somehow, when you hit the sweetspot that is. And that old school footwork of both Federer and Haas is exquisite. Very high level match.

Old school racquets definitely had more control than these newer, larger racquets. Also, these guys were at minimum using hybrid gut strings. Now, most players on tour use full nylon or poly strings, which takes some of the feel out of the racquet, in exchange for spin.

Cette fin d'année 2002 correspond pour Fed a un declic majeur pour la saison 2003. Saison qui le verra inscrire ses premiers titres majeurs (Wimbledon, Masters..) D'ailleurs il fera demi au Masters quelques semaines plus tard, ne perdant que d'un cheveu face a un Hewitt au sommet de sa carrière.

Haas était cramé physiquement, forfait pour le reste de 2002,et pour 2003..retour de l'Allemand à indianwells 2004!!
