This kid will grow up with an advantage, as this certainly will challenge his brain in more ways than an average toddler would experience, as well as developing social skills and acceptance of difference at a young age.

The cutest moment in the video; the baby trying to lift up her mom's left foot to put on the shoe. This shows how cognizant and sensitive he is to his mother's needs already. God bless them both!

My husband lost his left leg all the way to the top.. and I was really anguish how our 4 year old son would react when he see him for the first time, it was awesome.. he saw his daddy, not the lack of a leg.. children are amazingly capable of adapt.. disabilities are in our mind.. yes even they are real love and support can overcome them...

As a disabled guy as well, Your comment makes me feel the same... Don't worry about people who critisize - they are either bored or immature...Or unsupervised kids ... Heads up, you'll make it. :)

Thank you Tamika for making this video. And go Jennifer go! I know you don’t know me at all, but it is so hard being a parent with any kind of disability. It’s so cool that your son helps you with your shoes and other things. I’m sure he does a lot more now as this video is three years old! Keep it up, you’re doing great! 👍🏼😀

This makes me so happy to see her not only overcome her disability, but to be an amazing mom at the same time. My ex forced me to have an abortion because I have a bone disease. He said that bc of my disability I couldn’t take care of the kids. If I told him I didn’t want to abort, he would tell me “that’s your choice but the second that baby is born they’ll give me full custody because someone like you can’t care for a baby.” The fucked up part is I only have to use a wheelchair for long distances. The only thing I couldn’t do would be to run after my kid if they tried to bolt, but if I used a baby leash it would have been absolutely fine. I can do everything he could have done, only difference is needed a wheelchair for long distances. So glad I got out and never have to see that abusive fucktard again, as long as i live

Thank you for sharing I have diplegia cerebral palsy and became a first time mom a month ago , and it’s been hard I can’t do certain things to care for my baby. I pray to God to give me strength on my legs , balance and patience. I don’t want to feel useless and it’s hard not to compare myself to the moms that I see that are so hands on. I have a wonderful husband helps me 💯 percent . Please pray for us in this new journey with our baby boy 👦

I love this video. I have a disability and 2 kids. One adopted and one biological. I have a youtube channel where I show how I parent with a disability. I actually saw some useful tips. It's definitely true that it gets easier the older they get. Great video CNN!

I'am a mother of a 16 month old boy and both me and the father share the parenting but it gets hard because his dad will get mad at me when he hurts himself like he fell off the couch today and I was going to get him off the couch but before I could get to him he fell and his dad came in and says to me can't you look after him 😔 it really made me feel bad as a mom we don't want to see our children hurt but when he gets hurt on his watch I never say that to him

Even a physically abled parent will have trouble reaching a child in time to prevent a fall! The father is being extremely unfair. You do not deserve to be spoken to like that!

Let's just hope your son does not abuse you when he gets older. It happens and it's very common. They can also take your money and place you areas to rot.
