Parashat Ki Tisa 5784 : Why Did Moses Break the Tablets?

The grievous sin of the Golden Calf is one of the most perplexing sections of the Torah. Within this puzzle, another question remains: Why did Moses break the Tablets of the Law? The mystery of the broken tablets reveals a great gift that Moses bequeathed us…the secret of recovery and renewal.
The Torah portion of Ki Tisa (Exodus 30 : 11 - 34 : 35) is read on Shabbat, 22 Adar I, 5784 - March 2, 2024

It is amazing that they were on a spiritual par with Adam and Chava before they ate the fruit in Gan Eden. Hashem made this happen so that they could do the Tikkun Olam with the advantage of Teshuvah. Excellent shiur. Thank you, Rabbi Richman, and Baruch Hashem from NC, USA.

Those commandments were what is in Yah's heart; which Moshe reflected back to the people, who broke His commandments, before they ever even had the patience to acquaint themselves with.

One interesting thought I had is that when someone makes a talisman some of thier energy goes into it usually when you break it all energy goes out . Think about it God's energy in those tablets with the intention to make straight their path ,how precious for the soul.

Rabbi, thank you for this. It is beautiful. I’ve never heard that. The second tablets were greater than the first? I’ve always heard that the first set of tablets would’ve actually perfected the world and the Jewish people had crowns over their head with the first tablets and it would’ve brought creation back to what it was before Adam sinned- as if the final Moshiach had come. Can you tell me the source for the second tablets being holier and greater than the first? Thank you again.

*Like Rabbi, said, it was the Sages who deciphered this* *That’s why we need our Rabbis and Sages* *especially if one doesn’t speak* 🗣️ *Hebrew* Zechariah 8:23 Thus says HaShem-Tzva’ot, “In those days it will come to pass that ten men from every language of the nations will grasp the corner of the garment of a Jew saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”

Sjalom. Wel spoken, rabbi. In me come up, again to think, urshibanipal an brother (egypt). There was written things, an urshibalipal let it steel from human for his bibliotheek. But also, he start rewrite the as tablets, things. Maybe, Moses have had more reasons for broken the tablet??

The more I listen to different rabbis twisting and distorting the bible and the truth, the more disappointed I am and the more unrealistic the truth about when has happened on mount Sinai is. Jews, stop the lies and the twists. Stick to the truth and begin to do what HaShem choose you to do. If the Torah is true, and what happened on mount Sinai is true, the JEWS have committed the biggest betrayal in the human history. They betrayed HaShem himself by worshipping a golden calf. Just admit it and move forward to do what HaShem choose you to do. STOP worshipping idols like money you do today, and start doing what HaShem choose you to do. Get it?
