So this episode introduced some limits to immortality. The first one that was shown in the episode was the fact that Immortality does not mean infinite regen. Immortality just means you wont die it does not mean you can heal from everything, If Kumoko did not have healing magic and h.p auto recovery then she would stay a head forever plus in the original the demon lords attack destroyed every cell in Kumokos whole body so if Kumoko did not have those skill then it would be the end even with immortality. Even with those skills it takes her time to heal up. The second limit shown in this episode was abyss magic. As mentioned some skills like abyss magic can destroy the soul. Immortality only applies to the body not the soul and heresy nullification cant stop abyss magic either so if the demon lord used that then even with immortality kumoko would still die. The only reason she did not use that is because she did not know Kumoko was immortal. If she sees Kumoko again then she will realize that Kumoko has immortality and she will most like use it so its game over.

Well the first op shows evrything the classrom in a spiderlike view and the first seconds of the anime we se the classroom in a view from above and we know you reincarnate as something close to yourself and that D reincarnated evrything but hersef from there. So not a very far fetched theory really.

For a fun perspective, can you imagine how fucking horror themed Kumo's attack would be from Ariel's perspective. You find a parasite on your daughter and it attaches itself to you, and even with your massive accumulation of knowledge you're unable to remove it, so you can feel yourself actively being eaten away.

There's no such thing as the "elf continent". Here's quick Kumo Desu geography course (no spoilers) There's two continents separated by a sea and connected by the Great Elroe Labyrinth. On the left there is Kasanagara, on the right is Daztrudia. The right one is where the majority of human story played out so far. It contains Kingom of Analeit (Shun's kingdom, also where the academy is located) and Holy Kingdom of Alleius (where the pope Dustin resides) The left one is where all Kumoko's past timeline outside adventures happened. It contains Kingdom of Ohts (owner of the fort that Kumoko destroyed when exiting the labyrinth), Sariella and to it belonging Keren county (Sophia's father's domain), Renxandt Empire (Hugo's domain), Elf village and in the far north bordering the Empire is the Demon Realm. Hope this helps you better visualize.

@@make8142 It's not a matter of translation, if you look at the map itself there is no division between the demon territory and the Kasanagara continent, the demon territory is on the same piece of land. Also, minor spoiler, any time characters are crossing into demon territory they travel on land, there is no flying or sailing over an ocean that separates the continent from demon territory. Literally the only way they are two different continents is if it's a case of like Europe and Asia, two continents pressed against each other.

Ariel is surprised the spirit attack on Mother is still going on after she "killed" Kumoko and thinks that means Kumoko has to still be alive. It makes me think that the original Kumoko's soul has to be alive for the parallel minds to also stay alive, so using a parallel mind wouldn't be the answer to an abyss magic attack.

Another fun thing that either got me confused for no reason or everyone else just misses. When Kumoko appraised herself in the beginning it said "Nameless spider" while all other reincarnations have both their new and old names shown during appraisal. So, yep, either I got it wrong or no one noticed it -_-

You can chalk it to "appraise lv not high enough" or "the show dont show it bc its spoiler" but i think you right.

The reason Fei's body was so strong and durable was because even though she evolved into a Light Dragon because of her contract with the Hero, she didn't lose the traits of Earth Dragons. So now she has the benefits of both Earth and Light Dragons.

There was one moment in the WN, not sure if it was in the LN, but it was just after Kumoko became a god, she and Ariel went to save Sophia, and afterwards, Ariel started massively over sharing about Kumoko’s past and how she was really worried about Sophia even though she doesn’t show it, and Shiro grabs her hair and slams her into the ground, and Ariel just laughs it off, it’s just casual for them because of how crazy powerful they both are

The great elroe ladybrinth connects two contients. In the ln komoko states that the upper stratum is bigger than hokkaido, one of the 4 japanese islands.

Did you all notice Ariels Voice in the beginning vs in the end of the episode, it was completely different. Its like they were 2 different people almost, but then in the beginning its pretty heavily hinting Ariel is still Ariel. I'm reminded of the phrase "well yes, but actually no".

from the anime it does not necessarily mean that... from context in the anime it is possible to say that it was just the spiders remembering or mentioning two different characters... master could be ariel... both master and mother could be mother... both could be kumoko... Is we go by anime only it could be any combination...

Only one monster was ever named "Nightmare of the Labirynth" and the episode makes a point of explaining how the Vestige's behaviour are similar to the Nightmare's. And that they make their nest in the region where the Nightmare's nest was. Another point is that, although we see a lot of spider monsters, we only know of one going into Kumoko's evolution line, and I assume that the Vestiges are named as such because of some visual similarity with the Nightmare. Even if this last assumption is wrong, the first one still holds. Although "Master" and "Mother" could reference 2 characters, the only options here would be Kumoko and Ariel...

I THINK magic brain just made a "phone call" to kumoko... she didn't return...

"Is the System voice Sariel?" Well, Kumoko refers to the voice several time as "Divine Voice [temp]", so that may have been some ultra foreshadowing on her part. Also, Ariel has the title "Ancient Divine Beast", and her name sounds a _lot_ like 'Sariel'.

Both continents are mostly inhabited by humans. The empire where Hugo’s from is on the other continent with the elf village, the demon territory and other small human kingdoms like Ohts and Sariella

I just realized something, shun and the reincarnations in his group are going to have to explain to their non reincarnation party members that they are reincarnations, because it would be kind of awkward when they get to the elf village and reunite with their classmates

She (i.e. "Information Mind") is inherently the Origin mind/soul and all the minds' ("Body", "Magic1", "Magic2") existence are ties with her. I want to point out that when Ariel was talking about how all spiders will do as I say accept for 1 does go against your theory that kumoko is controlling Ariel, because she was acting as if she wasn’t kumoko and someone else

It could be that it was not Ariel saying Kumoko at some point disobeyed her... but that Kumoko (who now has control of everyone) was saying that Ariel used to be the disobedient one... please do not confirm if you have novel knowledge...

Ok, I have one big issue with the Kumoko=Spider theory - if Kumoko wasn't one of the kids, then the numbers stop working again. D said that a specific number of people reincarnated (I think it was 25, I'm going to assume it was) and then Kumoko says that counting all the kids and the teacher there should have been 26 people in the classroom. D fixes that issue by clarifying about herself not reincarnating, but if that's the case then for the 25/26 to be correct Kumoko would have had to have been one of the people counted. I'm guessing Joe's theory is that she got D's human life's memories, but if that was the case then Kumoko would just count herself as D's old life (Wakaba) and there wouldn't be an issue in the number, as all 26 people would be accounted for again. Adding a spider to the count of people reincarnated means there would be 27 minds total now, subtracting D makes 26, and D said there's 25 total. That means that, unless Kumoko was somehow counting the Spider in her original 26 count, the theory doesn't work. And I doubt she would have counted the spider cause, well, why would she have if she wasn't aware that that was her and she just thought she was one of the kids (Wakaba presumably)?

Fei: This world's Saitama - One Punch Girl! Body brain was ultra smart to take the opportunity to go after Ariel, considering how dangerous a threat Ariel is to Kumoko's body. White keeps her eyes closed because, as we got a glimpse of in one of the OPSs, each of her eyes has FIVE pupils. She is using clairvoyance to see through her eyelids because she knows her eyes will creep people out.

If you fight in a group and your whole group kills something together then you gain experience and levels based on how much you contributed. As for titles like dragon slayer the whole group will get it as long as they contributed. Shun did not get the dragon slayer title when he killed the earth wyrm earlier in school because that was not a dragon it was a wyrm the anime made a miss translation. As for titles like Kin eater only the person who ate their family member will get it even if other people help you kill the family member they will not het the kin eater title.

Imagine if the vestiges said "noob" And spammed it "Noob" "noob" "weak" "scrub" "get rekt" "LOL"

An other thing, that guide hald all the reasons to be mad against Shun, because each spider(nightmare remnant) can easily take that earth dragon for lunch 🥩

Based on the light of the kumo desu ga nani ka novel I read: 1. Kumoko is actually the earth spider we're reincarnated. 2. Ariel was kumoko's grandmother (but kumoko would have thought of him as elder brother). 3. Sariel was a race of angels and sariel became the nucleus of the system and became ariel's adoptive mother. 4. Wakaba hiro is administrator D. 5. Administrator d was a god of high order who toyed to become a disciple called wakaba hiro. 6. Shiaori was kumoko who evolved into a lesser deity and she was also a woman of all whites who liked to close her eyes. I'm sorry if I've been misinformed and also sorry that my English is bad because I use the translate app.

It's always funny to see the 2 levels of anime-only: on one hand there the guys like Joe who predicted half the stuff before it happened, then there at least half the comments under each episode being surprised that "Whoa there's actually 2 timelines? I'm so confused?"

I have read the light and web novel, so I will only say I enjoy your theories ^^

In the light novel, there were more than just the 3 parallel minds - Kumoko completely leveled up the skill, and sent them after Mother.

Lets call the water area Miami Beach. Human Land > Miami Beach < Elf Land.

What happened in the end credit scene was body brain latched onto the demon lord. Now as shown last weeks episode when Kumoko appraised her the demon lord has Heresy super resistance of level 6 It was explained earlier that heresy resistance and nullification means attacks on the mind and soul are less effective. so body brain cant weaken her(unlike how they are wearing down mother) but it is definitely annoying to her. She was more annoyed about it in the anime compared to the original.

She doesn't have heresy nullity so body brains attacks do weaken Ariel over time, she's just not taking as much "damage" or as fast as mother since she has a much stronger resistance.

​@@Xyrenos Heresy resistance works a bit differently from other resistances. If you have high fire or earth resistance then you will still take damage from fire and earth magic but just very little. If you have high heresy resistance then it will mean you can break out of illusions more easily and heresy effects are far less effective on you. Spoiler warning Plus as we know from future events the demon lord did not get weaker from Body brains attack instead they ate each other and merged ith the demon lord retaining most of her original personality now this happened partly thanks to her gluttony skill but it was also partly thanks to her heresy super resistance.

I do know that D once told Kumoko that when she attackes mothers Soul Mother couldn't fight back to damage kumokos Soul because of her heresy nullity. I can't go into details because spoilers, let me just say a Soul can take actual damage in this story.

So I dont think they’ve shown a map in the anime but imagine human lands as Canada, the demon lands are Texas/Mexico, the Great Elroe Labyrinth is under the Bering Straight, elven lands are the Koreas, the rest of Russia/Asia/North America is wastelands, other minor countries and groups

SPOILER WARNING (This is to clear up confusion of whether Demon Lord is Kumoko or not) The Demon Lord Still isn't Kumoko in the future, even with the Body Brain attacking her soul. The Body Brain and Ariel's mind sort of slightly melds. For all intents and purposes, she is still Ariel, but her mannerisms and behaviours change to slightly reflect Kumoko. Kumoko cannot control or even influence Ariel in any way. Ariel's goals are still hers and she still has the will power and determination to carry them out regardless of the slightly altered personality. She's basically just Ariel but more carefree and expressive. That's all.

Does nobody thought of what D told kumoko and already said what she really is in her sentence about her when they started talking and no one got the clue....

Hi joe, I love your theory's even when they are wrong they could still be valid in a different timeline, like a DC multiverse kinda way. Just to clarify some points on the guide, he was the one from the beginning of the series that burnt down kumokos house. And he attacked shun because shun tried to appraise the vestiges which is a provocation to most monsters.

The novel has a map of the entire world you shud check it out because I doubt that they will add it to anime. You will at least know where the characters are. And I think(I'm not sure) the anime already covered the part of the novel where the map was so that you don't have to be afraid that it was spoiled.

Would love to see the cut content from this episode as an unlisted alternate version to the theory video next week.

a lot of people have that theory about the spider in the class... it kinda makes sense but at the same time it is really possible that the anime team just did that to have a point of view of the people in the classroom and it made sense to use a spider in the classroom to do it... Let's say it is artistic license... I have not read the novel past half of vol.1 so i have no idea if it is true or not nor do i want to know from novel readers... i want to find out from the anime... But remember the novel does not tell you that there was something watching them... i find it hard to believe the novel would straight out tell you the spider is watching the class.. but might as well happen in a later volume and it would explain a few things... just ideas...

Not a spoiler, it just wasn't explained well because of skipped details: The Nightmare's Vestiges mentioned "Ruler" and "Can't appraise" several times. For "Ruler" they were refering to both Shun/Schlain (Ruler of Mercy (he was stated to have used Mercy to revive Katia)) and Oka-sensei (who has already been shown to be a Ruler, but what her Ruler skill is hasn't been revealed yet). For "Can't appraise" they meant Oka-sensei. By this point in the novel, Shun tried to appraise Oka in the past and the result was "Appraisal Blocked" for the same reason that Kumoko and Sophia can also block appraisal, via using their respective Ruler Privileges in the System.

Man, it's gonna be hard to try and trick you now

It may have been the group that came before Ronandt’s group, they did mention they did mention that people have encountered the nightmare before them

Yeah, while it's not shown in the anime, Kumoko was back in the Upper Stratum for quite a while and encountered other human groups before Ronandt's group was sent to investigate. Just for some reason the anime decided to have Kumoko leave the Middle Stratum into the Upper then cut straight to Ronandt's group arriving.

Is it just me or is body brain acting a little not herself in that scene ... like are they starting to develop their own mind and thinking since they ate so much of mother (that has to have some kinda side effect on them or something)

I don't know if you noticed, but Ariel said that every Taratect obeys her. But in episode 10, we learnt that a Queen Taratect appears at Fort Kuzorion's battle field and destroyed both demon's and human's army. Considering that, either Ariel lost the control on her offspring (like with Kumoko) or the Queen Taratect's attack was intentional.

Yes well, remember that Fei's human form is just a skill. She is still a Light Wyrm (Much stronger than most dragons though thanks to the fact that she is a reincarnation, she can evolve into a full-on dragon though if she'll level up enough). So even in her human form she is crazy strong and stuff.

I think Administrator D is the spider in the classroom, it can’t be anyone else right?

Magic brain 1 is still with Mb 2 attacking mother, and the main body kumoko did not send the body brain herself, it was the body brain who decided to attack the demon lord's soul.

Kumoko just needs to use small amounts of abyss magic on herself to gain resistance and immunity to it.

Not a spoiler. It's kinda easy to debunk the theory of Ariel being a parallel mind. It was shown she has the "Heresy" stuff magic. This heresy magic was shown to nullify psychic attacks. So basically the parallel minds cannot hurt Ariel but she can't get rid of them either since she just said it.. maybe. Yeah. So up to this point I don't think Ariel is part of Kumoku since she has the heresy stuff.

We need a more detailed explanation of parallel minds, because kumoko doesn’t act like the original, this is obvious when the other parallel minds don’t refer to her as the original, just as the main body, so it’s likely parallel minds doesn’t just clone your mind, especially that the mind and soul are probably one and the same

Basically, Ariel can't fight against the parallel mind attacking her, but she's also too strong to be fully destroyed. It's not too big of a spoiler since it'll likely be said in a few episodes, so I'll say it: The future demon lord technically isn't Ariel, but also isn't Kumoko's body brain. They basically become a fusion of personalities.

i think that spider in the class is Admin D😂😜

There's a Jaws movie where it roars like the one in the show, which is something sharks can't do. So in that sense it is more of a Jaws creature than a shark.

I'm not so sure that Ariel could really kill her with Abyss Magic at that point in the story. I mean Abyss Magic (even the "easiest" skill Hell Gate) has an extremely long cast time. Even Kumoko has to use all her magic brains to cast Abyss Magic and even then it still has an extremely long cast time. And Kumoko's activation speed, construction speed, conjunction speed, and injection speed are maxed out by Height of Occultism. A skill that Ariel does not have and can never have, since it is part of Wisdom. So the total cast time for Ariel should be even higher than for Kumoko.

You are a fun to watch xD

And now you understand why everyone was saying "yes but also no" to your way out there theories that were SO CLOSE to the mark.

Big spoiler The thing the spiders said "Everyone will die" is very likely if our spider manages to beat up gulie gulie.

I want to mention that one of shuns group members couldn’t be appraised, the only time we saw that happen was with an administrator

owner of Ruler skills, like Mercy or Pride, can block appraisal. The skills give them Ruler authority.

In shun party i think there's 2that can black the appraisal it's sensei and shun.

Ariel in the past has a different voice in the future so I think Kumoko does get into her mind and possibly switches bodies BUT I think Ariel goes into Kumokos spider body... Also that guy in Ariels army back when Kumoko gets her first phone call from the Admin has a flash forward and Ariel and him talk about how that was the first time they met each other in the labyrinth. Also the girl in the back of the classroom HAS to be the Admin!?!

(I've only watched the anime, I've not read the LN so all stuff mentioned here is based only on what has been seen in the anime thus far) how is this even a theory? they've basically confirmed that kumoko is one of the students (though the teacher told shun and the others that she was actually dead... three were confirmed dead (by the teach to the students), one had kumoko's human name, also recall that D would be another one, and potentially the demon girl who fought shun and co. earlier may also be one of the classmates deemed as dead) 'cause I don't trust the teacher to say the full truth because she would want the students to be protected. Bear in mind that the teacher either assumed that the students would reincarnate into human forms, or, she decided (once learning of the student's fates) that the ones who are unreachable by usual means e.g. not being able to communicate/having wars that they would be deemed dead so as not to raise the student's hopes up. Because: D does not include the spider when counting the souls in the classroom also, if Kumoko was the spider in the classroom it doesn't make sense that she would be familiar with playing video games and necessarily the isekai experience or in eating Japanese food. Also bear in mind that Fei was reincarnated into a dragon form... they established early on that the reincarnations don't need to be human/humanoid so you know, it seems strange that the main character would be the spider from the classroom when they have been heavily suggesting otherwise (on the other hand... my headcanon, 'cause I don't think it's a provable theory, is that the Mother could be the spider from the classroom, if the spider realised that it was reincarnated (but as mentioned earlier, D did not mention a spider being a soul from the classroom and that the spider wouldn't have been able to level up the ranks that quickly)

Stopping to read is good when there is a lot to read... we know they will explain the most important parts but not al the extra stuff that may not even be important now but might later... In a novel though i would rather read to the end of the "scene" and go back if i want to examine closer something because normally if thei explain something it probably is in the next few paragraphs... you don't need to stop and think for every single "important" word... you can always go back one or 2 pages instead of stoping the flow of the story... In novels normally no "scene" lasts longer than 2 pages... By scene i mean a moment form the point where something happens to the moment the focus is shifted to the next thing... Some novels even mark those shifts when they are notable using a -- or other symbols in between lines.
