Parallax Commodore 64 Title Tune

Музыка

I'd like to thank ratix98 for telling me about Parallax. It's really quite an amazing tune for the C64. Martin Galway composed some truly amazing music.
I would however like to apologize about the song being incomplete. The intro simply HAD to be cut, otherwise I couldn't meet the 10:59 minute limit. I added a little bit of the repetition at the end, but I feel the overall song isn't diminished too much. Enjoy.

One of Galway's masterpieces in my opinion and will always hold fond memory's. The sid chip made it all possible of course. Takes me back to my schooldays 1981-1986 long live the c64, thanks Martin.

Just brilliant. This tune is so original, i'd never heard anything like it before and never since. I think Galway really cut loose on this one, and it's not to everyones tastes, but if you 'get it' then it's on another level. If you've never heard the whole thing, do yourself a favour and give it the full 10 minutes.

This was a huge hit of a game when released and I remember sitting with my mate in his room just listening to how long the tune would last.. I think we got blinded by the raster splits on the title sequence after 10 minutes of Galway sonix and watching those 8 sprites scroll around the screen. :) I'm surprised this hasn't ever been converted to a modern PC/console.

I never had Parallax on the 64, so this isn't very nostalgic for me, instead I can just appreciate one of the best chip tunes ever made. Martin Galway is a genius... while modern game music composers try and make every game sound like a Michael Bay movie, this does the job perfectly in about 7,000 bytes. I'd rather listen to this than most other game soundtracks.

I got this game back in the day on a ZZap64! magazine cover tape. It was a free game they included on it. Totally weird experience playing this game as there were very little instructions with it. The surreal, haunting soundtrack really set the scene perfectly.
