I've always seen sans as going blacked eyed and stoned face in moments of sadness or distress, bottling all his emotions up inside. Him falling down on the ground and crying or something is just something I can't see him doing.

I mean, he could teleport, but at that moment, he probably couldn’t stop and think, “Hey, I could just teleport to them!” and be done and over with the kid before Papyrus could even get hurt. Story about my experience playing undertale: I did a lot of cut off neutral routes for undertale. I'd kill someone, then get bored and reset halfway through to try something else. I must have reset like 15 times. But then I realised that I needed to kill the characters that inconvenienced me. I soon decided it was all of them, so went the Geno route, just to try it. Somehow I managed not to cry when I killed Papyrus the first time. I moved on, killing everyone. It took forever. All the grinding and waiting for the message that would say "but nobody came". I also explored to see what was different from the Pacifist route. it took me literal weeks. Weeks later, when I got my PC fixed, I continued while my sister and I were hanging out in her room when I finally made it to the sans battle. I was reading his dialogue and then I died on the first attack (a lot harder than I thought even tho I've seen it a million times) so I went back to my save point and stopped when Sans's first text box appeared. I know it's dumb, but I actually started crying and my sister just looked at me so weird. I thought back to the Papyrus kill and regretted everything so much. Papyrus was simply too good for this world. I ended up resetting, going pacifist (and having sans stalk me the whole game). I gladly did Papyrus's puzzles and was so happy when I finally got to spare him. I didn't try to skip the dialogues. I read every one of them. Right now, Im in waterfall. This goes to show that characters do have a special meaning to some people. Yes this story may be stupid and cheesebally to some, but it can have a significance to people like me. *Sometimes, it's not just a game.* Edit: fixed a spelling error Edit 2: oh my god thanks for the love!

I could never go threw with a genocide route in Undertale even if I tried. And I'm too scared to go the snow grave route in Deltarune. It's just not right regardless. NPCs like Papyrus are why it's not easy to go threw with it. And Sans is the karma for doing so. You did the right thing resetting. I'm proud of you.

The game was made so that you would. I guess toby did his job making the game so that you'd rethink your choices and decisions and think back to them the game makes you feel a sense of guilt. Despite it not being real life it truly makes you feel that way and in a way its like you really are a monster and again makes you feel like one.

Monsters that move the most are putting their all into killing you but papyrus ain’t even trying he can literally summon words exactly like sans and as a video said: “he could probably destroy the entire underground”

The best part is, this is more accurate than you'd think, Paps truly has stopped more genocides than his brother.

Every monster up until that point has attacked you on sight, whether out of necessity (Toriel), self-defense (Most of the monsters in the Ruins and Snowdin), or plain cruelty (Flowey). Papyrus, in a move that's unique to the Genocide Route, allows you to spare him on turn one. Or rather, "Papyrus is sparing you." Papyrus is one of the characters many players come to love when they first start playing the game, and seeing that he genuinely doesn't want to hurt you ends up hitting them right in the feels.

Who thought what they meant by the final puzzle was the long bridge with cannons and axes and the dog, except papyrus would really activate it

PAPYRUS!!! YOU GAVE US *ALL* A HEART ATTACK

At the end there,I was actually expecting Sans to shout: "DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT!"

Why was sans still crying, Papyrus is still alive? Did he cry tears of relief or something?

the worst part for me is I started a genocide run yesterday on my other channel and when I got to papyrus...after remembering this comic....I died from the inside 😭

When I first played undertale I wanted to do a full playthrough of the game without dying once and on the Papyrus fight I had all the intent in the world to kill him, but I struggled during the fight and when I feared that he would kill me and he offered me me mercy I spared him. I’m so glad I did because I experienced a much better game this way and Papyrus became ruler at the end of my playthrough (I also died for the first time at the mettaton fight btw)

Hey I don’t know what your going through now, but just know that I still support you even though I’ve never met you and have no idea who you are or what you are doing now, but just remember that on some neutral runs the monsters don’t give up even when freedom seems grim and near impossible they don’t give up and in the words of papyrus everyone needs to give up giving up so if the monsters aren’t giving up down there, you shouldn’t give up wherever you are so just remember to stay determined

The vulnerability in Papyrus' voice acting was perfect

I attempted only 1 genocide run, when i got to papyrus, i couldn't bring myself to get rid of someone, who believed in me so much... Theres no point, no matter how crazy the fights are, it will all end, and the world will be void of all hope and light, the thing i had once fought so hard to protect, my curiosity, doing it because i have to know what happens next, it's just a sick excuse to entertain myself with the suffering of characters on a screen who don't deserve it. I'm glad i chose to stop, and shut off my computer, I've never played Undertale again since then.

He can see other timelines, even of the routes when Papyrus, and maybe even everyone else, was killed.

+Lucy Cyclone He was crying out of relief that Papyrus is alive. Sans knows other timelines exist, but he doesn't remember them like Frisk/Chara and Flowey. He's just that good at reading people.
