Think Cisse was one of those temperamental players who lets press/fan opinions get to him. Because he literally never returned to form after he was written off by fans, yet there's no denying he was a top finisher.

Yeah, well thanks to the Fat Owner, Toon are already doomed before July. Sacking a manager, as per usual, Sports Direct mentality, they're destined for the Championship again. For 6 months, this guy was the greatest finisher of all time. The final goal against Chelsea, probably the greatest goal ever.

That first goal is sensational, not many people ever really mention it when you talk about the goals he scored that season.

Love how pretty much every one he scores is a wonder goal. The powerful drive v Villa, that tricky little jink and finesse v Liverpool, that amazing balance/composure against Swansea and that's leaving out many - including THAT goal against Chelsea.

We need Cisse himself to watch this as a reminder of what he's capable of!

That Newcastle team was something else

As someone who was only born in the 90s this season was my favorite season as a toon fan. Its the one season (apart from being in the championship) where I felt like teams actually feared playing us, even the top 4 knew it would be a tough game, not as in tough to break down but that we were actually a threat on the attack and would go at them. Best season.

Ba's departure ruined everything and Cisse was heart brocken and he feels lonely at the club Ba was a brother to him coz they shared everything, same nation, same religion, same culture. :'(

Miss watching those top three attackers at Newcastle, Cisse, Ba and Ben Arfa such an enjoyment to watch! (from a man united fan)

He hasn't lost it. He just relies on quality service to match his early runs. Once Cabaye was sold he got nothing when or where he needed it. Hence why he was so often offside. If he got a run in the team with Wijnaldum playing I think he would score again

You may have been right for a little while after Cabaye was sold, but he's definitely lost it at his age now, similar to the way Rooney has. Shame Newcastle couldn't get the best out of him. Watching his technique compared to now is just unreal... seems like a completely different player.

He was always awesome here in Freiburg and the German Bundesliga. Like the first 6 month in Newcastle. We never forget Papis he was one of the best striker in our club history. Really sad what happened to him.
