Papillion UnScripted - Jordy Bahl and her dad Dave Bahl

For the last two seasons Jordy Bahl has been one of the most dominant pitchers in College Softball. Now the two time national champion at Oklahoma is returning home to play for Nebraska Softball.

So much respect and love for Jordy from this Sooner fan. To know you were battling this as you pitched your tail off through this championship season is amazing. Knowing Christ is your center and helped you through this is a blessing. I remember the homesickness growing as I was 2000 miles away and ended up transferring from Oklahoma to a school back home in California. It made me no less a Sooner fan.

I watched most every game that was broadcast - knowing what Jordy was contemplating during competition shows what she's made of. Such a strong young lady and a wonderful example for the next generation of college athletes. It's great that she's so close to her family and isn't afraid to show it. Follow your instincts Jordy, wishing you all the best 🥰

Another OU Alumnus - class of 92. Such mixed emotions watching this. 1st, wishing she was still a Sooner but 2nd just happy she was part of OU for 2 years and happy for her and her family being close together again. My son just graduated HS and is leaving and I can only imagine how Jordy’s parents feel having her back home. I already look forward to it with my son and he hasn’t even left yet. Wishing you nothing but the best 98!

This was a very revealing interview for me as Jordy Bahl is not who I thought. What I saw here was a young girl who is really not that self confident or strong mentally and emotionally. She got to live her softball dream the past couple of years at OU but her real ambition is to have a family and live near her family while playing softball a few more years until those things happen. And being close to family is so important that she will sacrifice her dreams to make that happen. She is not the persona displayed by her alter ego on the .mound where she is assertive, aggressive and self assured. We were glad and fortunate to have had her at OU the last two years but now, she wants to “go back home” although my experience is that is something no one can ever really do. Best wishes.

She got a ring for each hand. Jordy will be fine, for she is one of the best. Next yrs Sr’s at OU will be going for 2 rings for each hand. With Coleman, Jennings, Hansen, et al returning, they will be huge favorites to do just that. I’m sure Jordy will be replaced by the best pitchers in the portal. OU lost the best power hitter the game has ever seen last year, in Alo. They proceeded to go 61-1, with a 53 game winning streak. I expect OU to not miss a beat. Good luck Jordy. You lost 2 games in 2 yrs at OU. You had the best hitting team and the best defense behind you. The best line up to play for Patty.

Not saying anything bad but kids now days aren't mentally as tough as they used to be. Just think of all our military kids that get home sick but they don't have a transfer portal to run to. My kids I hope I can instill in them the toughness they need because mommy and daddy aren't always going to be there to run too when you get home sick. But I wish Jordy the best and hope she can become a stronger woman.

Jordy is making the biggest mistake of her life! Bahl, Let me explain DECISIONS about your life that you face when you become older, ok? The tough thing about adulthood is that it starts before you even know it starts, when you’re already a dozen decisions into it without even realizing its importance in your future. Your father isn’t watching anymore. You’re on your own. You’re your own woman, and the decisions you make now are yours and yours alone from here until the end. Take heed, the decisions you make now, can’t be changed, but without redoing years and years of hard work. And in those years, you become something different. Everybody does as time passes. You start another school, tattoo, career, find another love, you get married, you have kids, you get in debt. But you’re never gonna be the same person you are right now. And I promise, potential and happiness are not always guaranteed, AND IT JUST MIGHT NOT BE THERE ANYMORE.

@@swallman I hope she turns the program around and Nebraska makes the CWS and faces OU with Jordy as the Cornhusker’s pitching only to fall flat and OU winning with many home runs. But softball is a team sport, and idk if having the best college pitcher can turn a team around that has always been lackluster. I wonder if Bahl realizes she is the best college pitcher money can buy? lol 😂

I Guarantee that in ten years she will regret going home and not staying to complete that possibility that she could be one of the very few if now not the only player to win a championship all four years on campus. I can't believe that she's that big of a Homer. Most college students couldn't wait to get away from home.

I've been following ladies softball since my sister played when I was in my early and late teens.... always tried to help.... I really got back into it 12 years ago because other sports lost their way to me... the heart the fun the integrity and the love of the game. I watch and am always amazed at the talent.... Oklahoma has always been one of my teams but so has Nebraska as college has so many teams... but I heard about Jordy like 4 years ago and she cane to Sooners country and I was like whoa.... and then not just the love of the sport her team mates and coaches... but her love of the Lord and her family it impressed me more than anything else. I will always cheer for her.... I will still pull for the Sooners but just know if this young lady is on the mound I will always cheer for her. Good luck Jordy bring attention to the midwest talent.
