This was my favorite episodes of Bests 2023 so far💪🏻So much interesting stuff. And the only book I own from this video is Fingers - which you forgot to mention🤔 Negalyod is beautiful! One certain acquisition for the future. I have couple Storm albums that were translated to Finnish years ago and would love to have more. Rosinski looks amazing on anything he does. That style is like a blueprint on how to draw European realistic style with style.

@@earlgrey862 I’ve planned to re-read and organize my Lucky Luke collection this year. It’s been too long. Never read them in chronological order so the idea is to fix that. The question is should I read all volumes non stop or take a break and read something else in between? With so many volumes do you set yourself terms that you have to grind through it all before reading something else? I do that and sometimes it’s hard if you buy something else you’d like to get into immediately🫣Silly habits, I know.

I bought and read slain the horned god a few years ago, I only bought it because I adore bisley art, I sold it because the story was agonisingly terrible

I did not need to see Vampirella archives. Thanks earl. Professor Bell looks amazing. I'd buy English versions of those. A bit like Hellboy? 2024 will see the release of a storytelling Thorgal board game. I wonder if the artwork is new or most likely repurposed from the comics. The Joe Orlando books look lush. I plan to read Negalyod this year. Looks like a lot of fun. Horned God is a good stuff. I have the Fleetway albums (3 or 4 books, I think). Happy New Year, earl!

Happy New Year! ... a Thorgal board game? Okay, sth for my wishlist next Christmas :)

I'm finding the Joann Sfar vampire stories under the title Vampire Loves (2006), in the Young Adult section of my public library. Is it wrong to say the cartooning reminds me of Noah Van Sciver? Your book has a much better graphic design to the cover. Mine looks like a poster for the film Titanic. Also grabbed The Extraordinary Part. These reviews always contain a surfeit of leads.

yes, the Sfar books are very nice (& out of stock everywhere :/, at least the Vampire one). And it has a bit of this lose "handwriting" drawing style that I like in many comics like in those by Noah Van Sciver as well, yes.

also, I can't believe I forgot to mention Thorgal in my best of 2023 video. it was on the list but slipped my mind..also I think at this point I have praised it so much I feel like it goes without saying

yes, sorry, I'm trying out a new microphone... actually my first microphone since I've recorded everything with my mobile before. I try to change it, but the next one this Saturday will be as quiet as this :/
