Dasgupta had his limitations but he was mesmerizing and highly perceptive when playing Kedar. This is truly a very satisfying rendition.

Kedar is played like a lullaby. Panditji plays this raga is such a beautiful manor. Like a mother calming a crying child. 🙏🙏

I was invited to Jyväskylä, "Athens of Finland", to lecture on Indian music. I had devised a computer program that played Kedâr quite correctly. "What more do you want?"

It was one of those moments when u feel the Divinity near u. buddhadevda is one of my all time favourites. he is amongst the greatests, without doubt. Priyadarshi Dash

Why did Buddhadeve flip out in the end, although he never drank or smoked? A pandit's hat on his head: "We need an orchestra like the Westerners", when stoner bands are mimimalising. Air and water pollution in Calcutta are more poisonous than alcohol and tobacco combined.

The assertions made about Pandit-ji's food habits in the comment are factually incorrect. Though done in moderation, Buddha-da could never be accused of being a teetotaler. Besides, though he listened to, and enjoyed Western classical, and even borrowed phrases from well known symphonies (and, sometimes even played Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik on his sarod) I have never heard him lament the lack of Western style orchestration in Hindustani music.
