There cannot be any replacement for Khansaheb...........he was a miracle in the music world..............

Just amazing to hear Kedar rendered so wonderfully on a string instrument of all things. Never heard a Kedar like this on an instrument, not even shehnai or flute.

Ali Akbar Khan had a very beautiful & unique one might say, way to move from bilambit to madhyalaya playing the same asthayee - raising the tempo in stages, as it were. For the drut he would of course choose a different drut asthayee. He never missed a tehai, which a lot of ustads also never did, but a lot more really did and sort of managed only to save the day by appearing to reach the climax of a tehai by means other than one perfect.
