Most mammals have a collection of nerves in the scruff of the neck. When pressure is applied the cub freezes so it is easier for the parents to move them. If you got a kitten or puppy you can put a clothesline pin on the back of the neck and they freeze and fall over until removed. Some adult cats get affected to.

@@klltx2001 most enclosures are designed like this so the cubs can't get stuck because they barely fit. This way the cubs can move around and explore in a safe environment while that enclosures is tight enough to keep potentially dangerous(fully grown) animals from passing through.

It gets very painful for a female mammal if their mammary glands get full. Cows get very aggressive if the farmer doesn't come out at first light to do the milking

@@Ayan-bp4dq both actually some moms produce enough milk to feed multiple calf’s at once so the farmer has to milk them to reduce the pain otherwise the mom can get sick. This happens with calf sharing and without it, really it depends on the mom herself.

@@Ayan-bp4dq dairy cows have been selectively bred to produce way more milk than necessary for the selfish consumption of humans. In the vast majority of dairy farms, the calf is taken away from the mother as soon as it’s born in order to take the milk. The dairy industry can get fucked

@@Ayan-bp4dq Well, a couple things have changed. The cows have been bred to create enormous amounts of milk and some are giving hormones to further stimulate milk production. The other change was that male calves were needed to be slaughtered to gather rennet to make cheese (and veal). Rennet made from artificial means is now used to make about 90% of cheese, so the male calves are probably raised as steers. So both may be at work in opposite directions. Small farms are probably much different from the factory farms…
