John Terry Yeah, it's just the way English football is going, unfortunately. For the most part I hate Tottenham (with the exception of a few good lads I know, of course), but I hate the plastics we get at Arsenal every week far more than I could ever hate Tottenham. I can't tell you how much I despise them. Proper football fans should be fighting to take our game back, but it's difficult when many of them have been priced out by their own clubs. The shareholders expect our loyalty and then toss you out once you're not worth anything to them anymore. Football was always a working class game - now a season ticket at the Emirates is the best part of a grand (and that's the cheapest ones!). Sickening, it really is.

Was in block 22 of the away section for this. Just before this chant, the stewards were trying to tell us to sit down and be quiet as we were disturbing the people in the club level. So we got louder. This year they've banned the drum. The reason? Too noisy. I'll be there again today. We've set a high standard but I'm confident we can keep it going. #CPFC

Half of the people that turn up at the Emirates every week aren't proper Arsenal anyway, and the Club is intent on controlling anybody who actually wants to enjoy themselves at a game. I hope you lot do keep it going. Every true football fan supports what you're doing - at least Palace fans are trying to break the corporate, passionless mould of modern English football.

But it was a huge shock for me that when I tried to start singing other "fans" told me to sit down and be quiet. That was so embarrassing. Here in Poland fans are always supporting their teams with drums and chants and no one is even thinking about telling them to shut up.

TheAiREasy It's embarrassing, mate, it really is. Half of them aren't proper Arsenal fans anyway - just a bunch of fair-weather supporters on a day out. The problem is that many of our real fans have been priced out due to the ridiculous ticket prices - same goes for many other English clubs. English fan culture is dying a slow, painful death, which is why I respect clubs like Palace. At least they're trying to do something about it.

TheAiREasy That's modern English football for you - fuck the fans, it's all about the money. The Club couldn't give less of a toss about how loyal or passionate you are, as long as you're paying your money to sit down and behave! The big games at the Emirates can generate a decent atmosphere, but standard games against teams like Palace are pathetic; just full of families and corporate types. Away games are 10 times better than home games for that very reason, because very few of the plastics go to away games. Which part of the ground were you in? REDaction usually does a decent job, but they don't compare to groups like the Holmesdale Fanatics etc. Two problems with the REDaction section: 1. It's nowhere near big enough. 2. There are still some idiots who have attached themselves to the group by getting season tickets in those blocks, which reduces its effectiveness.

I'm an Arsenal fan, and I can say that the Crystal Palace fans absolutely dominated us in the stands. It's just a shame our season ticket holders are not this electrifying...

I just love the Palace supporters! They have such exuberance and you can tell they have a real love of their club. How they have the stamina to keep up the chants and songs for the entire match is remarkable. I just wish that sports here in America could have fanbases that are like the fanbases of English football clubs. Over here in America, our sports fans are just a bunch of know-it-all jerks who seem to attend sporting events only to criticize the goings-on. But English football supporters seem to have a genuinely fun atmosphere and are really enjoying their day out at the stadium. Sure, the supporters taunt the visitors, but it's in a spirit of competition. And sometimes those chants are down right hilarious!

I live like 2 minutes away from Selhurst Park, and when it’s a night game I can never sleep because all I hear is then singing 😂😭

1.All games are different, as is the atmosphere 2.you don't need to sing nursery rhymes to be considered a fan 3. I go to watch football, not sing fucking songs 4. I was there today and I could barely hear this chanting...When Rambo scored the whole stadium shook....Palace section was nearly empty by 94mins, SO, it's all relative, I don't judge fans by their singing voices, stick with your team until the end :) loyal fan since '71 (non plastic type)

We do, but it's a minority. A club like Crystal Palace only has proper fans while a large portion of any top 6 club will be plastics and tourist fans.

Proper football fans. Nothing but respect. Anfield is 10x better than this on a European night but the ability to do this every week is class. God knows us lot at L4 cant.

Fact is Anfields atmosphere is a bit of a myth USED to be great but not no more its a shame really but your KOP cant compete with the lower Holmesdale and the back of the Arthur Wait non stop 90 minutes

The Emirates is so hit and miss it’s either booming or a library I went to Napoli vs arsenal in the europa league and it was electric but I’ve also been to league games where it has been silent it’s quite annoying

I’m an Arsenal fan and i have so much respect for these Palace fans for putting the Arsenal fans in their place, i’ve been to quite a few Arsenal games but I can’t afford to go to a lot of them, so when I see the fans on TV making no noise and not filling the seats it makes me sick that these people, unlike me, can afford to go to the matches and can’t be fucked to bring an atmosphere with them!

I'm an Arsenal fan and our home support is dire unless it's a big game. Our away fans are occasionaly excellent (Tottenham and United away). I have followed HF since they were in league 1 and it's great to see them getting the recognition they deserve.

I made an error, that mean't to say championship ( I must of been thinking/looking at something to do with it at the time ). The championship did exist in 2005. The revamp of the football league began at the start of the 2004-2005 season. Ignore the fact I've complemented your club, that's fine.

People have to remember that the fans of top teams find it difficult getting all excited and chanting all match when playing piss-poor teams like Palace when we're used to playing in amazing matches against Barca, Bayern, Milan etc. If you want us to be louder then you have to stop being shit. Watching football matches is a form of entertainment and if the opponents are parking the bus or are generally just piss-poor; we aren't going to be entertained.
