Cricketers of that time were very compassionate, calm and real, like when Pak bowlers specially Imran Khan take wicket their reaction is so natural and simple, as compared to the cricketers of nowadays.

I love Imran and Wasim Sir... I am very nostalgic and emotional to see the then Indian and Pakistan teams. All where such gentlemen. My huge respect to Wasim Akram Sir. With Love from India.

Indian umpire was the 12th player for Australia.

Must say, so many legends in the same match 1) Border 2) Steve W 3) Mc Dermot 4) Dean Jones 5) Imran 6) Javed 7) Wasim 8) Inzi And many more great criketers. But back then any team playing with Australia was playing against 12man, 11 cricketer and 1 umpire. My Goss, thanks we have DRS now

I was at this game, great day out! There was this big Pakistani guy near the front row with a huge beer gut, a beer in each hand and no shirt on, giving all of us Aussies so much shit that day! He was dancing around on the seats celebrating for the entire match! He was on the square boundary at the western side of the ground. Everybody kept buying him beers he was so entertaining.

Yes. The squad members still keep telling how Imran Khan had given them a speech before the match and told them "mainy hisab laga lia hai, hum worldcup jeeten gay". If I was there I would have laughed at Imran. Aamir Sohail, Miandad were instrumental. Not to forget Aqib and Mushtaq.

OMFG. Look at that wrong decision of umpire. Inzamam clearly inside the crease at 18:31. Quite amazing

Honestly he came in power without support of establishment. All surveys supported him before the 2018 elections. The establishment infact tried to stop him by establishing MMA in KPK against his party and TLP in Punjab. He was gonna get a simple majority but the night of elections the RTS system went down and even the seats where his party was leading till night were given to his opponents.

I have sweet momory of this match. I was in Texas and a roommate had brought video of the match. Watching match on television ia a cassette player was fun. Now I watch lying down on my bed at wee hours in the cold room is also thrilling and I am sure Imran Khan might have fourseen the captaincy of Pakistan after the match. He had vision GOOD.

Imran Khan's captaincy skills were magnificent, he was the pioneer in multiple dimensions - be it for the introduction of neutral umpires, using strike bowlers in short spells, focusing on wicket-taking instead of run-restriction in ODIs etc. Wisden's ex Editor Tim De Lisle reckoned if an all-time Test XI would be assembled, Imran Khan would be the natural choice as skipper. Serial Man-of-the-Series Awards winner ever since that feature got introduced in the early 1980s. Trailblazing fast bowler, who inspired generation of genuine fast bowlers from Pakistan. so selfless, he refused to play weak opposition in the final few years of his career, citing lack of motivation as the reason. Once declared team innings when himself batting in the 90s! Regarding his quest for success and taking up challenges, Imran Khan's famous words were, "I am not afraid ever of losing. I just hate losing." He was the team's de facto coach and spokesman too. Imran Khan, thus, is truly unmatchable in cricket history.

Imran Khan's best contribution is the number of great players that he found to play for Pakistan. Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Aqib Javed, Saqlain Mushtaq, Inzamamul Haq... the list is illustrious and long.

Javed Miandad batting was outstanding throughout the tournament.

Geoff Marsh 39 off 91 balls!!!! If you look at his strike rates probably comparable only to Ravi Shastri's at the top of the order. Marsh was dropped after this game and that was the end of his playing career for Australia.
