Pakistan has some crazy talent. As some have pointed out, the old school arcade scene they have there truly gives them an edge. I think that knee, while still great and definitely a threat to anyone, might be closing on the end of his competitive career. Dude is 38 and still rocking, but I don't know for how long he can keep up with the new gen.
That kid just walked through those two like it was nothing! Insane talent from such a young dude!
When I traveled to Pakistan in 1999, I visited several arcades and noticed many kids gathered around Tekken 3 machines, a game I often played on the PS1. Surprisingly, a young kid challenged me to a match, and I was astounded by their skill level, even back then. It seemed that Street Fighter wasn’t as popular there; Tekken was the preferred game among the arcade-goers.

To me pakistani players gave the example as far as living in a country where life is difficult but still overcoming the odds. But as far as american and european players giving it a shot i tbink its you majin that we have to thank for. Maybe im biased but speaking for myself at least, your run in Evo got me into Tekken again after years and years nad i'll be forever grateful
I think it might've been under a Tekken Crash or TMM video, but I remember ~10 years ago some enthusiastic guy commented that Pakistani Tekken was strong. There was nothing to back that up at the time, so I thought he was either cappin' or maybe they were like American level at best. But from what we've seen in the past 5 years, that random dude was being for real lol

random little note: Hafiz is someone I've known about for about a year and a half? he's played with Heera Malik a lot and has taken big names in pakistan, bro taking out big names here was no surprise to me, a dedicated and strong claudio. also Claudio can't launch steve's QCF2 as its only -15 whilst WS2 is i16, have to use hopkick from crouch, but no claudio players remember to do that lol
In another Tekken tourney, Tanveer beat Arslan, Atif, Khan and Heera in a tourney. Every visitinh Pakistani player made top 24. 3 guys finished 9th,3 made top 8 and Atif won TGU. Proper domination by Pakistan. The last 3 TGUs have been won by Pakistan. Arslan, Dawood and Atif

I wish I could pinpoint exactly when this was said, but I distinctly remember Aris around TTT2 mentioning this. He was saying that partly why he liked the World Tour going to overlooked countries was because he thought there was a possibility there were really strong players out there, and we just haven't had the chance to see it. I think this was when El Gallo Negro was making waves, and there was that African player who was tearing people up with double Capos. That was a couple years before Pakistan turned up and redefined the tournament scene, so I guess he was right lol. But like to imagine there's maybe a region we still don't know about, that might pop up out of nowhere and give Pakistan a run for thier money 😄
They’re aggressive. They don’t run away and know how to counter it. They force even Koreans to play their game.
I love how Lil Majin the people champ can tell it how it is. Lets not act like we was not raising our folding chairs in the air when Lil Majin was holding down the entire America on his back at evo. Still one of my favorite evo's of all time. Had me playing King for a whole week after that till I came to my senses. The crazy thing is lol I hate King but I'm a lil Majin fan somehow. It's like I've watched this man in the FGC for years it's like we was growing up together strangely. So many hype moments and good memories. I would love for a random sleeper place like Jamaica to just show up out of no where lol.

I don’t know many other people who play Tekken abut I love watching Lil Majin. Ever since that tournament where he went crazy with King I’ve been a fan. I haven’t been interested in FGC games for very long. I first became interested in 2015 when TNT showed a SFV tournament and I saw Punk, I got introduced to Smug after that, then Lil Majin. Some point after that I heard about SonicFox.
I heard he was 20 years old which is crazy since knee is twice his age pretty much
I would love to see Tanveer Vs The Jon that’s a Pakistani street fight
You’re a scary individual when you run through the top two Tekken gods back to back no diff at all.
My brother had gaming shop in Pakistan and I used to go their and play tekken 3 and there was one kid he was about 8 or 10 years old and he was super good in tekken and kind of fighter 97, he cant even reach the arcade properly but he beat big players he never lost, I remember I always try to play against computer but when he came I always says shit where he came from.
It wasn't a surprise watchinh Tanveer win vs Knee's Steve. He was won many times vs Heera and Numan and those Steves are fiendishly aggressive. As for Joka, Tanveer was battering him in ft sets when Joka visited Pakistan.
Knee is going to think twice not taking this kid seriously.
