Diego estuvo de vacaciones con la familia en Providencia y San Andrés. Además de descansar, aprovechó para pajariar en estas islas del Caribe colombiano, llenas de especies y subespecies endémicas. Este es un paraíso para cualquier pajarero que quiera ampliar su lista de aves.
¡Diego sumó 15 nuevas especies para su lista colombiana y algunos lifers!
Acompáñanos en esta visita por los manglares de Old Point, donde encontramos endémicos como el Vireo caribaeus, y otras aves hermosas como la Elaenia martinica y la subespecie de Coereba flaveola que no tenemos en el continente. Además, exploramos la cima más alta de la isla de Providencia, donde la diversidad de especies es menor, pero la densidad de aves es impresionante; ¡todo un espectáculo pajariar en estas islas!

Diego went birdwatching while he was on vacation with his family on Providencia and San Andres islands. These Colombian Caribbean islands are a birdwatching paradise full of endemic species and subspecies that will grow the list of any birdwatcher who visits. Diego added 15 new species to his Colombia list, and some of them were even real lifers!
Join Diego as he visits the Old Point mangroves, where he finds endemic birds like the San Andres Vireo and beautiful ones like Caribbean Elaenia and the local Bananaquit we don't have in the continent. He also climbs Providencia's highest peak where the species diversity is low, but the densities are incredibly high. Birding on these islands is an amazing experience!
