    Thanks everyone for checking out my video! Yes this is how I paint and yes I have been doing it for over 13 years. A lot of “painters” will tell you this is not how you paint. My question to them if I get just as good of results (if not better) in less time then why try to bash someone? Anyway thanks for the nice comments and to those that don’t agree or feel the need to be a keyboard painter your negative comments are as welcome as any . The results and my customers thoughts are really all that matter! If you’re interested in knowing more about my method and results also how to cut your work time down with awesome results feel free to message! Keep slanging paint guys!

    Those shields are primarily used for brick lines and shingles on exterior work. Looks fine in the video but how much overspray is landing on the ceiling and trim that you can’t see on camera. Plus, touch ups are going to flash without a doubt.

    Lots of pre-emptive strikes from the channel owner and some shills because he knows his work is substandard, it is not about how fast you can go to get paid and hand the naive homeowner a trash job it is more about doing it the right way and not over spaying the doorjambs base and ceiling.

    @jonathanmcadams-nx5zp

    No way. The edges will need cutting in and even this way with new construction will need help because that shield will get buildup and over spray on it and will leave a dirty edge from time to time and you still need to do the corners as you can see. This will work if you either clean that shield he is using every 150 to 200 square feet or if you switch out shields every now and then or just wipe it down real good every so often. I always have issues with the shields building up with the overspray and leaving weird uneven markings and I would much rather hire a guy for 15 to 20 bucks an hour to tape off every single piece of trim and charge the customer another 1150 bucks to have the trim all taped off and have the guy pull all the tape as I go after waiting for me to shoot and then another 20 minutes added to dry because I run propane heaters in three rooms while I paint because ei paint in a damn oven and my homes are done within 2 hours from start to finish and can be touched by the time I pack up. I don't screw around and we are like clockwork. I can paint a 5 bedroom 5 bath home that is 3,000 square feet in a day with 3 guys and that includes all the trim going up but I prefer to divvy it up into two days. First day I spray all the trim and walls with a great primer. That takes the first half of the day. The second half of the day is for caulking everything in and filler on all. I then paint all the ceilings in fast and then have the boys clean up. We take late lunch and come back and Spray spray spray all the trim out and crown with high gloss using shields and cleaning them in between sprays and back and forth cleaning shields and drying back and forth. Then I leave and the guys clean everything up and wash it all up and at the very end before they leave they lock her up. They get there in the morning and tape tape tape. Everything is taped and plastic is put on everything and it takes 2 hours with 3 guys. Then I get there and spray spray spray color. I have my 3 propane heaters running full blast and two large fans that they move accordingly around the house. I spray and spray and spray and one person follows and cleans my sprayer and switches colors when needed and switched out shields that I use every now and then and he cleans them outside and dries them and comes back and forth with that. The other two guys pull tape 30 minutes to 50 minutes after I spray and we rock and roll. We will usually cut off by 2 or 3 and not take lunch on day two. I will charge $5,000 plus materials to do a 5,000 square foot 5br/5bath home and I pay about 2,000 in labor and 1200 for tools, gas, food for us all, supplies, and cigarettes and weed. Lol 1800 goes to me and of that I put 1500 in the bank and use the rest to have fun. Materials for a home this size for trim and walls and caulking is about 2k give or take but we only use the best Sherwin Williams paints. I am high end but it is dry and my ozone machine are throughout the home within 24 hours if I haul ass and you need it done quick and 36 hours if I have it my way and take my time. I come back the next day to get my ozone machines and my money and do a walk through with you on day 2 or 3 depending on how fast you wanted it done. You need anything painted? I am high end and we do mostly beach homes, new construction and renovations, lots of stucco mcmansions im Hilton Head and Savannah Islands area. Also will go to St. Simons Island and Sea Island too. We specialize in beach homes and do lots of seafoam greens and light blues and pastels and tons of white beadboard and Wayne's coating, crown, and your typical chair rails and library paneling type stuff. I have references and three trucks and a van and two trailers and 5 guys. Two crews available if needed but I usually run one and a half with me painting full time and another guy I have who paints for me semi to full time but he is also running his own thing which is half mine in the commercial side of things. Let me know if you need something on the southeast section of Georgia or south Carolinas coastal areas. 😊

    Everyone has their own opinion I’m not saying mine is wrong and I’m not saying mine is right about the back rolling. I would strongly say the back rolling is for touchup work. If you ever have any repairs you have to do you will never match the paint where it was sprayed, unless you spray it again, roller and airless leave two different colors. The back rolling allows it to be touched up later down the road, if needed or if any repair work is done. As for the lap marks, I have literally seen guys spray the longest ceiling ever and walked that whole ceiling down just to not stop and have a lap mark . Even season the painters have that issue a lot of them. Easy fix just release the trigger before you stop your hand motion. If you do it at the same time or stop your hand before the trigger it would definitely leave that hard line that will be showing up as a lap mark
