What this video taught me: -It's ok if the paint smudges you can always paint over it -Build layers!!!! -it doesn't need to look perfect from the start, it'll look like blobs but thats ok -you can paint like this too, just have patience Amazing work!!! It got me out of the painting slump i have for over 4 years and made me pick my sketchbook and paints up again ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

You need to study a lil bit about shadow and light. Those "blobs" have a purpose - they create light undertones. I recommend finding a good book for art students, which'll interest you. Also practice drawing real life objects first, it can be as simple as hair brush or mug. But you gotta understand shape and how it affects the colour. Good luck!

i sorta feel the same way. i rarely paint, but i have a HUGE problem with the whole "trust the process" thing. i start and then i give up without even fully getting into it because it looks like shit. like, of course it does, it's not finished. but my brain doesn't seem to understand that. i'm trying to start a scrapbook/diary now and i have the same problem. really annoying lol

@@lavishlyvice yeah, totally explaining my problem too... but once I forced myself on trusting the process with a painting that had such mistakes I thought of completely giving up (and that was the second try with the same painting, as I gave up on the first one) and the result turned out to be way more better than expected.. like, it was the best painting I had ever done!

It’s also the first movie I watched and loved the story line .

This video taught me so much. Today I was painting a studio Ghibli scene too but using watercolors. I've noticed during these years that I'm always afraid to ruin my drawing so I don't put enough color or I don't add too much details. I really loved this video and I've decided that from today I'll try to be more confident while painting 'cause a good painting comes out with more than one layer, step by step and with a lot of hard work. By the way you're so talented, I really love your works💘

It's gorgeous! What I've learned watching watercolor art over the years is that it's easier to manipulate the colors If you also control how much water you apply. I am currently painting flowers and I have found it easier to apply the color first, then build up the wash, then add details. Lovely video and happy painting!!

As someone who finds landscapes and guashe grueling, I really found this video inspiring and soothing. I think it’s something abt all the little details overwhelming me and hyper-fixating instead of trusting the process, but watching you add each beautiful blob of color made me think it’s worth it and I think I’ll give it another try.

Those rainbows reflection on the paper is so beautiful

I almost cry, there's been a while since I haven't watched something so artistic, I mean the whole thing, the painting, the video editing, the music... You are awesome

@@beevimundhira4168 Chances are this one came from a crafts store, like Michael's, (found only in the us and Canada, unfortunately) but you can get a sketchbook pretty much anywhere.

Love this, because painting isn’t about becoming an electrical scanner but to process your visual intake and give your personal flavor to it. Inspired me to do the same with ghibli movies just for fun =D

The amount of details and hardwork is amazing, I realized they did so many layers which is definitely what makes their work more awesome

I am currently painting Arriety's room too but decided to quit on the process for a while. You have no idea how much this video inspires me to go back again!!! aighhtt time to go painting this nighttttttt

the visuals are by far the best part of this film. it felt like a painting watching arrietty, it knocked the air out of me it’s so beautiful.

Her desk though it’s so aesthetic and the tools that she uses and the asmr wow wow I love this

I'm really struggling today and this video healed me. Especially with the Bob Ross line "There are no mistakes just happy accidents" I will live by this ♡

Arriety was the first movie I ever watched in theatres when I was like, 3. Only years later, did I realize it was an anime from Studio Ghibli- and I was already in love with anime at the time. This is some real perfect art :)

Arietty is the first anime movie I ever watched, and I fell in love with it. I’ve watched it so many times since, and it’s such a nostalgic movie. And I always found it aesthetically pleasing and calming. You did such a great job bringing these scenes to life!!!

These videos are teaching me patience and believing in the process. What I've found is once my paintings reach the stage shortly after her base layer I decide it's bad and I can't fix it and I give up. I know I have the talent to keep going and make it great because I've done it. I just forget. I gotta just keep building it up and adding layers and really working it before giving up on myself

I have a whole stack of these same Daler Rowney sketchbooks, that I impulse bought years back, which I’m only halfway through; seeing you use yours for [gouache] painting is very inspiring. I think it also shows new/young artists that they don’t need 15-20 dollar sketchbooks to practice effectively and efficiently, which is an additional plus.
