This was so interesting. I struggle with having the courage to add deep shadow but what a difference it makes!

You should try ! At the very beginning I had the same apprehension ! but the contrast etc is so amazing !!! Now I can't paint or sketch without putting shadows everywhere, it's what I like the most !

I love the vibrancy of the purple shadow! I didn't find it confusing, in fact I want to try this myself.

Very interesting exercise!! I think you benefited from painting the four at the same time, your painting style stayed loose and you didn’t focus too much on the difference in art supplies. It was fascinating to see the pieces developing and I think you stopped at the right moment, so all four kept their individual beauty.

Thanks Teoh for this demonstration ! Thanks to you, know, I only work with limited palette. I have a small portable painter et a bigger palette with 3 primary colors in cold d warm tones and 2 earth colors and a lunar black for black and white drawings. I no longer work with colors already made. Less is more🙂

I would love to see your work. I find a limited palette challenging but I don't like being overwhelmed by a large palette. Judy

Can you recommend good quality watercolor brushes that are inexpensive? I mainly use royal and langnickel brushes.

Try escoda brushes. I discovered them few months ago, they are not very expensive, most of them are synthetic brushes (depending on what you like).

Hi & an off-topic comment/question but 1st a compliment, you're quite competent/professional/focused; *I'm just want to take notes & play around with drawing. So I watchedlots of samsung's galoaxy Tab S7 & MS surface pro 7 videos & became very confused how the hardware all-worked. Your introductary videos were very helpful. Now whether than just buying a Tab S7 or surface pro 7, I'm looking for an inexpensive both touch/pen portable monitor I can just plug into my/any smartphone, laptop, desktop, etc. **??????Any recommendations/suggestions??????** Of course many either pen-only or touch-only monitors are fairly inexpensive but I would prefer a single one with both touch/pen. *Interestingly none-art pen computing is just good-old-fashioned multimedias desk top publishing (compositing/integrating most forms of electronic media like rich text, tables, picture, audio, video, calenders, shareing, etc). For example whether than using fancy MS Onenote or Samsung's notes, with pen-input & little more-effort I can do the same or even much better in MS Word (I hoping). Hope I didn't bore you. *Lastly you might put some hint to your country/culture in your videos. People of/from different countries/cultures add a little spice to life for me. The-world just keeps getting smaller & smaller & ..... (that's a good thing).

Most pen displays don't have touch screens. Those with touch screens are usually very expensive. And touch features don't work that well with Windows because of Windows. You can check out the pen displays from Huion, XP-Pen and Wacom (expensive).
