    If you have a good hot hair dryer you can carefuly heat the white pvc waste pipe end and make direct connections with glue and make slight offsets to straighten direct runs. Just a hint there is another option and that is a commercial heat gun for the same process. Also, watch your drop and distance on waste lines. If you exceed the ratio the water may not carry any residue and be prone to clogging. Don't forget to put a small steel plate over where the plumbing goes through the wood so when you cover the wall you don't accidentally put a screw or nail through the pipes.

    Great work on the doors by Gary. Welcome back Danni, hope you are feeling better. Have you ever thought about buying the book "Boatowner's Mechanical and Electrical Manual" it was first published in 1990 and is currently on the 4th edition. It Is hailed as the first truly DIY manual for boatowners and is available on Amazon and eBay. Stay safe

    Glad to see Danni back and in her good form. Pretty exciting to see your current projects because they are heading for a finished boat. This has got to be pretty rewarding to realize how far you have come. Good decision on the half inch pipe although copper costs the moon. Danni will be picking up a few shifts through an agency wherever we are in the country and I’ll be carrying on with filming and editing the videos, we make a bit through KZread from adverts so that will help pay for diesel, logs and gas 🙂

At the minute Danni is working as a nurse, when we start cruising she’ll be taking a few shifts up on agency in different parts of the country wherever we may be. I’ve finished up at my old work and currently focusing on finishing the boat and filming/editing the videos, we make a bit through adverts which will help with our canal license, logs and gas etc. Yeah who knows on a book, maybe once we actually know what we’re doing on the canals! 😂

Love the way Joe is getting on with his plumbing. I could never, and would never attempt anything like that. As for Uncle Garry and the doors, what an amazing job he has done. The doors are beautiful. It's such a pleasure following you on your amazing adventure. Dani's talk to camera was classic (re: Joe's motor). You two are great. Take Care and have a great week. that blue flex hose you are using for your drain, has a short life. measure the white pvc pipe and compare to the black pipe on the wall. if the white pipe is close to sliding over the black. you can heat the white pipe and work it over the black. a heat gun, hair dryer or torch (careful not to melt the pipe). you can also bend the white pipe using the same method of heating the pvc pipe. use a liberal amount of glue on both the black and white pipe, to ensure a good seal as the black pipe is not smooth. make sure the glue is compatible for both types of plastic pipe.

  • @DanniandJoe

    @DanniandJoe

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes someone else suggested some radiator hose, which is smooth also. The pipe is slightly offset so wouldn’t slide over easily without a flexible pipe

  • @erehwon7729

    @erehwon7729

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@DanniandJoe that's why I mentioned the heating of the pipe. you can then form it to almost any angle. like after going through a wall and you need the pipe shifted in multiple directions to conform to existing structure. you can heat the pvc and bend it, without using fittings. just trying to save you additional future maintenance. as things age and deteriorate. radiator hoses will last in certain conditions over 10 years. in high heat 2-3 years. in your climate probably the extended life.

    Another great video and great to see Danni back. Can you please provide details of where you got your log burner from? I have eberspacher diesel heating on my narrowboat but need to find a small log burner like the one you have. Thanks in advance and I look forward to seeing next weeks video. Gary

    Thank you! It’s from Glastonbury Burners, chap called Dave makes them all by hand one at a time and they’re really reasonable, www.glastonburyburners.co.uk/index.html#blog for reference ours is a Cyclops, they do a mini cyclops as well which is more for vans. Hope of help.

    Hi Dani and Joe, the doors look amazing. Just wondering with the doors open does the fire warm the bedroom and bathroom? You are getting close to just working on the piddly things. At my house when we get to that stage it takes years to finish 🤦. You are doing a great job.

    It’s crazy how long the odds and sods take! Worth it in the end though. Yeah it does gradually warm it up in the bathroom, once our batteries are in we’ll be able to use the diesel heater for the bedroom and bathroom as well

    Just out of I terest when's Joe's birthday Also why did you not put underfloor heating on the boat?

    9th May! I can see the appeal of underfloor heating on a boat, with the cold water beneath you it makes sense. We were set on a log burner as nothing better than sitting in front watching the fire. We’ve also got the diesel heater which is simple ambient heat and easy enough to install.

    Just wondering . . . Why are you not using your diesel heater to warm the inside while you’re working?

  • @DanniandJoe

    The diesel heater is almost ready to go, the main thing is not having our batteries connected yet and we’re running the lights off a random spare battery we have, if we used the diesel heater it would empty the charge within a day I think

    No we’re planning on leaving them exposed pine to go with the floor and ceiling trims etc. Really like the contrast between wood and paint
