Hi Everyone and Welcome to Promethean Sewing Machines, where I am unashamedly rebelliously creative when it comes to taking old forgotten sewing machines and bringing them back to life in a beautiful way.
This time I am painting this little New Home Machine! Shes getting a clean white paint job with blue themes floral and bird decals. All in all, pretty delightful. I hope you like it!

Руки золотые , не каждый мужчина так сделает . Я сам немного реставрирую старые швейные машинки , но у вас получился шедевр. 🔥💥💛🩵👍

Good choice on that font.... I have been on the fence on white, but I'm going to do one of my 31-15s with it now.

What a transformation! The blue against the white is striking. Perfect choice for her name. Beautiful.

Curious... I have a few machines that are in need of some odds and ends...but I had this thought of making new cabinets that are made of pallet wood (or maybe brand new wood) I had a design I thought of where similar to the cabinets that had the machine fold into the desk...(cuz I'm not wanting to make a lift happen as a couple hinges would be cheaper than another device that would require a motor or more space taken up...but that is not the main thought.... If I didn't do a glue up with multiple boards and just went with a solid plywood or MDF or any other board that could hold the weight of the machine...do you see value going down if I put more modern touches to the cabinetry and or machine? Like an LED light and maybe a mini strip outlet bar with 3 prong (vs just the 2) ....for those that may want a push button lift for the machine to raise straight up.... Also...my one design would have the small size (when machine is folded in to cabinet) similar to a lot of the ones I've seen that are slightly larger than the small desk where the front door comes out and the knee controller is on the right....but when expanded out...both the side with the machine on it as well as the side that is adjacent to the sewing machine would have a panel that hinges upward to allowing instead of just one panel (when not in use...to 4 panels all in equal size to each other... hope this makes sense...it does in my head! Haha!

Of course everyone has their own opinion, but mine is that in general, unless they are museum quality and extremely rare, unfortunately most older sewing machines don't have a very high residual value monetarily. Because of this and because I do use my machines a lot I have put the strip LED lights on, and I have updated motors, updated wiring, and to me the value goes up because they are much more usable and user friendly. If the cabinet that you're thinking of making will make you happy and will make the machine usable to you then I think that it would be a fabulous idea.

@@prometheansewingmachines Thanks for your reply and insight! I had seen some other machines being painted with prices starting at 1700 and if mechanical needs were also required.. that would be extra. I guess there is a niche for customized sewing machines just as there are custom cars. They are machines that people have determined their own value and purpose for.... I come from an auto upholstery background and my boss is like an encyclopedia of what came factory correct while I tended to be more of a guy that if the factory materials were no longer available or cost more than the motor and trans and paint...then why not do something different and tasteful to give the car a different look. Thanks again! 😇

@@mrupholsteryman I think those prices are a bit high ... They are probably featherweight 221 which are trendy and over priced in general IMO. But hey, if you have a market. I price mine low just so that I can move them, because I enjoy the process.

@@prometheansewingmachines yeah.. I don't have a featherweight. And I will probably focus on restoring the ones that are more popular and may be more recognized...and I know my wife won't want me to have a showroom of multiple machines and cabinets especially when I'm already working a full time job for about 60 hrs per week....
