What a cool process to watch the blueing... I've never seen that before! Those parts are going to look amazing on the new art deco Singer 66! That turned out great! You do such a great job restoring these old relics & making them beautiful again... Just like your theme song says!!

Very well done! You definitely have inspired me to get back both into sewing and into vintage machines. I have a Singer 206k that needs some love coming next week and next month I'm going to pick a 1927 White Rotary electric machine in the prettiest cabinet, that sewing machine body is cast embossed with the prettiest filigree all over, I am also getting a 1920's Singer full cabinet treadle, the machine is a shuttle with the Sphinx design (Not my fav) But, I am so tickled... I have a beautiful 66 crinkle finish that has all black side except for the faceplate I was wondering if the gun bluing would work yours looks great! Now I’m going to try it on mine.

love your idea on how to make it blackside your faceplate looks propa !!! will the black oxide/ super blue work on my 206 faceplates i dont no what they are made of will be pretty in black i do have a black side 206 face plate but it does not have the decorative design on like the other 2 i have with the scroll pattern

what about if u dont have that machine to get the rust off or a heat gun o do you have to sand them down??? can i use coke instead like the ppop to help get the rust off

Please help? I have been watching your sewing channel for a long time and you mention this channel periodically. My mom recently passed and my great grandma's singer treadle machine is now mine. It has been kept on display in a climate controlled dry area but hasn't been used in over 35yrs. You mentioned a few times that you used to live in AZ, can you recommend anyone to help me getting this baby into working condition? I am too nervous to attempt this on my own but I have been watching this channel recently seeing if I could do it on my own but I just can't bring myself to try. I don't want to ruin one of the few things I have of our family legacy. If you can't recommend someone I totally understand but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Thank you!!!

Hello! Most likely your machine only needs a nice clean up and oil to get it going again. I really am unfamiliar with the sewing machine repair shops in AZ but since the treadles are so simple I would say just about any SEW-VAC kind of shop could take care if that for you. Enjoy her!
