👀 What's Inside:
• I checked the paint carefully to find all the little scratches and marks, dulling spots, haze, and buffer trails.
• Measured how thick the paint is to see if it qualifies for paint polishing.
• Picked the right tools to make the paint super shiny, such as pads, polish, and polisher, and showed you how I did it.
• I also fixed some tricky holograms or buffer trails to make the paint look perfect.
🔍 Why You Should Watch:
• Learn a new way to make your car look as good as new!
• Find out why checking the paint and measuring it is super important prior to any work.
• See the magic as I show you the process of making the car paint look brand new.

    Absolutely. Another option that works and worked great on my car(s) : one round with the Coarse pad and polish, followed and finished with Yellow. Used with an LHR 15 on Carbon Black Beemer paint. Over the years I've learned to stick with this brand. In a few months @ spring it's time to prep the car(s). 1 degree Celcius over here in Belgium right now 😅. Cheers.

    In the video you mentioned that the client doesn’t want to get a coating with you at the end of your “paint correction” , and that maybe in a month you’ll see them back for the coating after paint fill ins. - A month later would you be repolishing the surface again prior to the coating if they come back ? Or Are you waiting for the paint fills to fully cure before coating them that’s why there is a wait? Awesome video man, we share a lot of the same habits when polishing a vehicle. But once you master the color of black, everything else is CAKE

    After watching a lot of vidoes and specifically your Audi and Shelby Cobra videos multiple times, you inspired me to finally perform my first ever 'test spot' on the trunk of my black Audi S5 yesterday. I used Rupes Yellow MF pad + Jescar Correction compound. And then Rupes Yellow Foam pad + Sonax Perfect Finish (I think that is the Esoteric method). The hardest part was actually holding the polisher nice and level for the whole series of section passes. That will definitely take practice! The first step took out like 95% swirls. But the paint was pretty hazy. The 2nd added a lot of gloss. When I looked at the spot with my detailing light, it looked great. But when I brought the car out into the sun, I could see a decent amount of holograms (like the in the Audi video. So it seems like I'll need a third step? Or do you recommend maybe I try the yellow pad/yellow polish combo like you did because my first step might have been too aggressive? Thanks for any help!!

  • @streetready

    @streetready

    2 ай бұрын

    Hey, well the holograms were caused by the yellow, try going finer. Black pad and something like menzerna 3800

  • @streetready

    @streetready

    The thing with soft paint like the audi, is you'll need to apply almost no pressure while doing the polishing faze, and honestly you don't need multi step

  • @streetready

    @streetready

    2 ай бұрын

    Sounds like it's super soft, try just a black pad and menzerna, I'm 90% sure it'll remove most of the scratches and leave no haze if it's close to what these cars were. Just apply almost no pressure let the pad do the work and use little amount of product, a small bottle should do your whole car

    Just did a whole 2 step process on my car with a new Christmas present my parents got me (chemical guys polisher and a kit with some polishes and compounds). Oh, man! Scotty don't feel bad, I know the pain! It a good stepping stone it'll probably never happen again! haha take it as a lesson. Now you've hopefully got an idea of what to do, test and see if you're able to do it with only a polishing pad, sometimes if you spend a bit longer time per section it cuts the process in half and gives you the same result! Depending on what type of paint you're working on. You can split sections like I did on the video and test them out. Let me know how it goes if you venture again!

  • @streetready

    @streetready

    2 ай бұрын

    The black pad is less aggressive than the yellow combination, the holograms were caused due to an aggressive approach. Although yellow worked effectively in some areas, others where the previous detailer tried to correct were really bad and the yellow didn't work in those sections so I had to back a bit to a light polish.

  • @streetready

    @streetready

    4 ай бұрын

    Hey Ken, So yeah he'll be back here after he's done with the fillings and whatever other modifications they'll do to the vehicle. In this specific case, I'd have to wait and see. It'll vary by the condition of the vehicle and what it undergoes from here till then. I won't really know till I see it in person when it gets back. The paint correction or paint polishing process should hold up great with no problem at all, but if the paint happens to have been contaminated at all, that where we run into issues. Let's say being left outside too many days in a row or something like that, I may have to clay, if I have to clay, I'd probably very likely 70-80% have to polish afterward but I'd go very light, and use my very least aggressive methods, and the very least aggressive contact on the paint. Whatever does happen to it, I will make sure to note it and answer your question on the video for sure to give you some closure on this question. Thanks for asking!

  • @streetready

    @streetready

    4 ай бұрын

    To be completely transparent with you I haven't heard of any of those polishers before, this is the first time I come across them. After looking at 2 of those because I couldn't find ChemicalWorkz - The ShineMate EX605-5/12 Dual Action Polisher gives me the ergonomic vibes of a polisher for smaller tasks, such as sections a larger polisher couldn't cover, and has a smaller orbit throw of 12mm. But that's just my personal opinion. ( ADDED ) - The ShineMate EX610-5/15 Polisher would be a better comparison to the one below. The Lustreuse Liquid Elements T4000 V2 MK2 - Orbitale 15 mm, has a 15mm throw such as the large polisher I used on the video, same throw, and has the ergonomics of a larger polisher designed for longer use periods, but that's again my opinion. Email the companies if you have other questions usually, they're great with responses and education, another website I'd recommend is: www.autogeekonline.net/ Some people swear and stick by Porter Cable polishers, I've never personally used one. My first polisher was by chemical guys, Torqx Random Orbital BUF503 one of their smaller ones, I'm not recommending I'm just giving you an idea. I did however end up outgrowing it due to running a business and polishing a lot more often than once a year, I needed something a little more comfortable for weekly use. I suggest you compare to other companies, for example, you can compare their stats to the Rupes 15mm throw polisher on their website and see what you think, also compare ergonomics. You can visit Reddit and see what people think of the companies you've opted on, and post the question there. Do as much research as you can before you pull the trigger on it because remember this will be a tool you'll have for many years, and probably use on most cars you'll have. Best of luck!

  • @streetready

    @streetready

    4 ай бұрын

    No way Seth! I do have an expensive one because I use it at least once a week to polish vehicles, they're targeted to professional detailers, this is how I make a living so I need a tool that can withstand a lot of abuse and pressure. You can use the Rupes pad and polish system with ANY polisher. If you're just starting out as I was back in 2019 it is best to look into very affordable options and get the feel of what it is like to work on a vehicle first. Whatever your option is though, remember you will have this tool for a long time so pick something you're happy with. In a comment below somebody asked me what I think of their polisher selection and I gave them my thoughts. I'll tag you on it. ( didn't let me tag you ) When I first started, I chose to use a Torqx polisher by Chemical Guys I'm not recommending it I'm just letting you know there are a lot of options out there now. I used it to learn how to compound and polish, once I got a good grasp of how the process works I eventually moved on to more expensive tools, only because I got more work. For personal use, there are a lot of tools that are affordable out there and great quality!
