@@cal5750 That's not how it works, for some people(like me) manually sketching a piece from scratch isboring and exhaustive. To me, I just wanna render out the ideas into art as fast as i can, I dont care what method or tool i use. Like almost every other artist, i started with traditional art, very tedious and time consuming, then i switched to digital sketching, much more enjoyable but still tedious enough as it is. As time went by, i still kept looking for better and faster ways to bring my ideas out into reality, until i discovered 3D. Now I've correct balanced workflow for my art. I dont care about my skills in sketching a character from scratch, all i care about is having the character i want in my piece. It's not about whether you can draw a face or not, its about the final artwork.

I've always said digital and traditional artwork are created very differently and one should learn how to do BOTH. Why? Because one day, you might need to create something and not have the access to technology, internet, or electricity. Or vice versa. The fact is, [ctrl]+[z] is a crutch. I dare you to draw something with a brush pen only. No pencil. No eraser. No [ctrl]+[z]. Just confidence. You can throw a crutch traditional artists suffer from at me if you want to! I'm just saying both are great. Painting/Drawing/Sculpting, in general, are all disciplines. They command respect to get anything out of it. Refuse to respect it, then you won't grow, right? I love what you said. It just provoked thoughts in me. I mean no offense and come in peace! I promise. ☺

But I have been working on a Samsung book for 2 years now and it uses wacom technology for around 1k$, veeeery portable, very light, I even attached my old Razer Orbweaver that I used to play LoL, and that covers my need for all the shortcuts I could wish, making the workflow a breeze. It's of course less powerful in terms of graphic drivers and processors and so on, but still an amazing tool for a professional artist like me, within a budget that, while not negligible, is less than 1/3 for an amazing tool. Just sayin', if you maybe have such a budget and wish to work digitally as smoothly as possible.

Some tips : You can render different passes in Blender which can speed up and simplify the process a ton ! For example the Crytomatter Pass, gives a different color for each object/materials so that you can just use the magic wand and select that color, eventually selecting that particular object without have to manually selecting and lassoing :) Another example is the mist pass which can help you add fog very easily in photoshop... Another passes include ambient occlusion which could help me add shadoes and AO directly in photoshop without manual painting ... Hope you guys find something helpful :) Have a creative day :)

This just came up on my youtube recommended - I'm not an artist or into drawing or painting in any way, but wow. You really have a knack for explaining complex things in a simple way. I never understood how people know how to do shadows in art or blend things or when to put lines (i DO do art, but collageing, video editing... not this medium. i tried and failed) but you break it down in a way that makes it easy to understand and that it's attainable. You've earned yourself a new fan today and I look forward to bingeing your old work and to seeing what you do next.

This is an amazing video and now I might just have to get blender, although I'm sure using 3d assets from clip paint studio is also somewhat effective. I do want to say I hate the concept of "cheating" in art. For me, taking advantage of the tool sets given to you doesn't make you a "cheater". They are just tools, no matter how many references, 3d models, or etc you have, it won't turn out well if you don't have the fundamentals down. We have the technology, why not use it? Maybe it's more impressive if you don't need these tools, but I'd rather use these tools and have something more accurate while being more time efficient than trying to do it alone. Because the only reason I'd figure you'd do it without a tool set is either: a) you went so long without it that you feel more efficient without it or b) you hold some artificial pride and think that using tools makes you "less of an artist". Which it absolutely doesn't and I genuinely don't think that's the perspective many people in those fields feel either. So please, don't feel discouraged to use tools that could honestly improve not only your work, but your skill too.

This video is extremely helpful man, thank you! 3d ought to allow me the time to try out more iterations for my environment designs. Also that filter->find edges trick you showed is so life changing wth.

If you ever need to take a screenshot from Netflix just turn off hardware acceleration in your advanced settings for your browser. It will stop the screen from going black. I do it all the time when I want to do some studies.

Really amazing stuff! You nailed it when it comes to basic animation and knowledge is basically position scale rotation! Been doing motion graphics for 10+ years now and those are the basic principals! Also, I never really blocked out a scene to draw on top of. That was really cool! Also, dang....that laptop IS cool. Have you tried getting that style IN blender?! I know its a lot more than just texturing - especially because I believe they change those textures up depending on the angle and environment. Looooooots of work went into that show and it blows my mind! Definintely one of my favorite pieces of media this year EASILY and I dont know crap about LoL!

I just clicked this for fun and intrigued with the style but Blender was a surprise there! It's not a shame to do 3D if you cant make it on 2D. besides, that's what technology is for, to make your work easier. I'm gonna learn this one when I get my new PC~ Thank you Marco!
