Paint Epic Bob Ross Mountains | Use complimentary colors

I used complimentary colors to paint this EPIC Bob Ross Mountain, and you can too!
It's easier than you think, using a simple tool that costs pennies!
Paint along with me as I use a colour wheel to find how Bob Ross used complimentary colors for his painting Mountain Seclusion.
I use Bob Ross oil paints and brushes for paintings but please use what you have available. Try using acrylics too. You might not get the same effects but the use of complimentary colors works just the same.

Hey there Paul…again. I loved the mountain seclusion tutorial! But I wanted to share something about the other video with the birch tree. I tried your technique sort of scraping and rounding the trunk with a palette knife and I made a pretty cool looking tree. But what’s more, I accidentally made a knot hole!! The $64,000 dollar question. TBH there's no direct equivelent. The two paints are complete oposites so its a case of experimenting with retarders to slow the drying times. Hey no problem - its why I make them! A black canvas is exactly what I used to start my painting. Its actually a heavy paper ( lining paper from the DIY store ) painted with black acrylic and left t until completely dry before starting with oil paints. Acrylics are water based paints and must be dry as they don't mix with oils - Hope that helps @@josephzaitz2250

  • @PaulRansonArt

Hello Bengt. I gather from your comments that your a little frustrated. The answer is quite simple - its what Bob wanted beginners to do. The clue is the word 'beginners'. I'm sure if Picasso or Giger had made a TV show for beginners they would be copied too. Bob just wanted to provide a place for people to start their journey. To learn and get confident. Then to go on and develop their style. many millions have. I have too. Theres quite a few of my own paintings on the channel as well as the remastered versions of Bob's own work. I hope you can find a way to express your own art too. Kindest regards - 😃😎
