In this UConn news conference, Paige Bueckers was "humbled" by head coach Geno Auriemma calling her "the best player in the country" but that also motivates her even more. Aaliyah Edwards is "locked in' on the NCAA tournament and not viewing it as a "wrap-up" to her UConn career. Both players expect a tough matchup in their Sweet 16 game against Duke.

As a longtime coach of women's basketball, my eyes say Caitlin is. (But Paige is great too!)

@@englishlessons5700Paige is an all around Great Player. Caitlin is a great shooter, but not as efficient of a shooter as Paige. Caitlin takes a lot more shots every game but Paige has a better shooting percentage in all categories. If you are building a team around them, Paige is the choice. Not only is she great, but she makes the players around her better. Caitlin is about Caitlin. Paige is about the team.

@@stan4800 I wouldn't even say Caitlin is a great shooter. She has range but is inefficient from absolutely everywhere on the floor. She is a high scorer, but on high volume, and she builds brick-houses with all her misses.

What jumps out at me while listening to Paige, Aaliyah & Nika is the high quality of these individuals that Uconn continues to attract. These are some impressive young athletes.

❤ Paige and Aaliyah! Congrats UConn, it was "struggle city", but GOD is faithful and HE provided once again. This season has been nothing short of a miracle🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🙏!

Paige can't be great without the team that she plays with. She can't be a basketball player by herself. She and her teammates also have the best coach in the Country, Geno Auriemma who has led his teams to 11 National Championships.

Then, I guess it is a good thing that basketball is a team sport. Any team would improve if it added Paige's super efficient scoring from anywhere on the floor.

What am I missing? Isn’t it obvious Caitlin has ignited the interest? Like dropping 41 on South Carolina in the FF last year. Do the UConn players not like CC? I’ve never heard Clark utter a disrespectful word

CC is responsible for maybe the most recent explosion, but it was absolutely Paige that got everyone to look at her while she still was still in HS. Hopkins High School was a run to go on a perfect season two years in a roll before covid shut down their last tournament. Along with highlight videos hyping her play, the SLAM cover did wonders to skyrocket people's awareness. Oh, and all her awards during her freshman year was pretty good too.

@@arthurmiller9434 because they were asked several times in that press conference about why women’s hoops exploded in last year, or they’d get questions on who is best player in the game besides Paige, and no one gave CC a shoutout.

It's funny because it's obviously Caitlin's rise to stardom (see last year's tourney) that started bringing eyeballs to women's basketball, and by extension to Paige and JuJu and others. They should be grateful. It is a little weird to me they won't mention her name.

i lost alot of money on her and UCONN the last 2 years. Considering everyone was talking about her as if she was the second coming, I'd figure she's at least have 1 title to her resume. You don't think she's under achieved and been injury prone?@@edwardloya8381
