'nonce' was what was written on the cells of sex offenders and stands for 'not on normal courtyard exercise' so the screws (Prision officers) didn't let them out with general population.

If memory serves correct, La comes from the Nordic rune script and denotes the full stop at the end of sentences, in rune a dot is actually a syllable. Basically echoes left over from Liverpool's first incarnation as a viking base. Likewise the word Ta comes from Scaninavian "Tac" which means thank you. The word Scouser comes from Lobscouse which is Nordic stew. Similar dishes are traditional in countries around the North Sea, such as Norway (lapskaus), Sweden (lapskojs), Finland (lapskoussi). I'm not sure if the first two are are actually true, would love to hear from an expert.

All correct but the first one. I think it’s just lad even more shortened down. Or just another way to say it. Scousers love having their own spin on things. I believe this as “la” is also said like “lar”.

When I visited cousins in N. Ireland and Scotland, I couldn't understand a word some of them were saying when they were talking to each other. Especially the more country-folk of the family. I could tell they were speaking English but it was embarrassing not to be able to comprehend it. These words and meanings are so unusual if I was at a Scouser bar full of drunk Scousers I'm sure I wouldn't understand what anyone is talking about.
